PPF in 2022 - Suntek v Xpel
Discussion
Seen a few threads using the search function but they date back to 2017/18.
Now in 2022 what is the best PPF on the market out of Suntek v Xpel?
Previous posts seem to think Xpel is stronger but suntek is glossier.
Im going with Gurch at EDP London and he is telling me Suntek is a better product and I do believe him given his portfolio of work. He has though given me a choice of going with whatever product I choose.
Whats the consensus?
Car is a Lamborghini.

Had Xpel on my previous M5 and on my 812; Suntek on my new Taycan CT. Different cars and colours but must say the Suntek does look super glossy. Only 3 months and 3000 miles in but very impressed with it (usual hydrophobic coating on top). I think I would go with the detainers recommendation.

We're and Xpel dealership but also Suntek accredited so know both really well.
Overall we use Xpel as standard because they offer the better complete package for our customers.
Things like there 10 year warranty is genuine and European wide, meaning if 1 of our customers from Europe ever has an issue it's sorted free of charge by a local company for them really easily.
Computer patterns are also a big thing, Suntek are equal to Xpel on a some cars but they can't be better, and on a lot there not as good.
As far as I'm aware only xpel dealers can supply xpel ppf, they won't sell to anyone so if you ask for Xpel make sure you are provided with the Xpel warranty card.
There are lots of little things like this that just make the difference. Who knows if this will always be the case but at this stage it is still our opinion, we aren't tied to Xpel so if we ever felt differently we would switch as are very focused on providing the best option.
With the film, originally Suntek did have better gloss than Xpel but today both films are identical to the naked eye, we've done several tests and a number of times have asked our own installers to tell us which is different and once installed none of them can tell.
The company you have mentioned have a good rep I believe as I've never heard anything negative of them, so if you are happy with the price and get a good feeling when you communicate with them I would go with the film they use as standard as there installers will be better with it as both films are different to work with.
Once installed, both films will look identical in terms of gloss etc.
Only thing I would add for anyone else looking for an installer, the Xpel dealer network is the safe way to find a good installer, it's really not easy to get on this so the best companies will pretty much always be on this network. There are of course good installers who are on the Suntek network, how ever it's easy to get on this so you have no guarantee that the company you find on there is up there with the best of them, they may of just been installing for a couple of years etc. which you wouldn't want.
Hope that helps, good luck with it.

Thank you for the replies. Have full faith in the installer so will go with Suntek but always worth doing some research beforehand. Have spoken to a few people now and all hasve said there is not much between the 2 brands now.
EDP are a very good outfit, they did a 911 Speedster for us (in heritage livery) and it came back looking superb, and still does. Really pleased with their work.Gassing Station | Supercar General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
