What can one typically expect across the different notable supercars in terms of servicing or warranty costs. Assuming buying second hand and a few years old

Obviously I am aware there are intricacies given supercars can range in price themselves tremendously

Each will require an annual service ?

Mclaren - annual warranty ~£3k, servicing £1.5k?
Ferrari - ?
Lambo - ?

It's such an over simplification, I don't think you'll get meaningful information. McLaren warranty is pretty comprehensive, and simply comparing warranty cost may give a very skewed conclusion.

McLaren warranty cost varies depending on model (sports Vs super series) and age. Super series is ~£3k until 5 years old and ~£5k after that. Non owners will tell you that you can't run a McLaren without a warranty. Many owners - including me - do.

Servicing on my 650 at McLaren is usually about £1,200. Last service I needed clutch / gearbox fluid change and rear brake pads. I had an agreed discount which meant I paid about £1,500 - think it would normally have been about £800 more than that. I think an average service cost of £1,500 is probably about £200 over what a service usually costs even with a couple of extra bits.

My 650 Spider has been cheaper to run in 3 years than my Ferrari 360 was.

Would be interested in knowing the yearly service cost at a Mclaren dealer on a 600lt and when a big service is due on one.

Would also be interested to know if you can keep extending a warranty like on a Porsche.

I don't know about those but I seem to recall Bentley doing a 3-year package for something in the territory of £6k, if memory serves. Not bad at £2k/year for that kind of machine.

Service costs of my McLaren 675LT under my ownership:-

4th year £939+vat
5th year £477+vat
6th year £840 + vat.

Only other expense was warranty at £4,960 pa but as others have said that is fully comprehensive, not needed to pay another penny on top in 3 years. Next time I won't bother as it has been 100% reliable in 3 years and 9k miles. I needed a set of tyres and went for PS4S at £800 fitted all round.

The servicing is on a par with an Audi S / RS / BMW M car's I have owned.

It is better on fuel than any other car I own, the average over 9k miles is 26mpg and it will do 35mpg on the M-Way.

So warranty is the biggest expense BUT it is a very good & comprehensive warranty, I have heard horror stores about Ferrari not paying out. However with indies like 'V' engineering offering reasonable repair prices for all the known issues I am not sure the warranty is needed as much as it used to be.

If I was buying a used McLaren I wold negotiate 12-24 months warranty in the purchase price, get to know the car, then not bother extending after the warranty period ends, assuming any niggles have been sorted in the intervening 12-24 months. You can get 12 years warranty with a McLaren and I believe that is currently being reviewed and extended.

Servicing cost on the 600LT is almost identical to the 570s , the most expensive service I have encountered on my 570s is £1200 ish this included engine coolant and clutch fluid changes .

The warranty can be extended until the cars 10th birthday, you can take a 2 year warranty just before that date and technically have 12 years total cover.
Obviously there are no 570/600lt at this age yet. But that’s the current situation for the mp4/650 models with no mention of it changing.

McLaren are reasonable as per costs above. Ferrari are also very reasonable for service, around £1400. I’ve not paid for a Ferrari warranty yet so don’t know the cost but you get two years included with an approved car. Lamborghini service costs and warranty costs are eye watering, to be honest I can’t actually remember what my Huracan cost to service because I had a few things done such as new tyres but it was over £5k. Warranty is also silly but they are the most reliable, if buying Huracan’s at least anyway.

I've owned / own 3 marques: -

Ferrari - 7 years free servicing and 4 years warranty. 5th year warranty on a 488 is £4,080. From the 6th year onwards you go to their power warranty which is around £2,500.

Lamborghini - 4 years warranty. The cost of service varies between dealer, call around. Chelmsford wanted to charge me £5k for a major service. In the end Bristol did it for less than £3k and that included 400 miles of covered transport.

McLaren - Loads of cosmetic, paint and mechanical issues on a brand new 600LT Spider. They refused to honour any warranty, blocked my email address and ignored all calls. Had to get my own independent inspection and sue them.
