Hi there

Wondering if anyone can recommend insurance companies for insuring 5-6 super and sport cars please?

I have 4 vehicles insured through AIB (Tel: 02380 268 351) and have been with them for years.

Try Gilbert-Smith Associates:
They look after my 6 cars very reasonably.

Would always suggest letting a broker do all the work !
I use Nowell and Richards - very good service.

Lockton - they have a collectors policy which is excellent. unlimited mileage, agreed value, multiple overnight locations, business use, policy holder can drive anyone elses car fully comp and anyone over 35 can drive any of your cars (some exclusions may apply depending on value). You can add and remove cars during the year with change to the premium. They cover heavily modified and race cars as well as support vehicles.

What is the rough cost on a policy like that please?

+1. I have 7 cars with them:

720s
GT3RS
356 (modified)
964 WTL cab
XC90
i3
Fiat 500

Cost for the year about £6k. Trackdays in the UK included, although you need to get each one underwritten and they can't so far get their heads around the idea that I might take more than one car to the same event. Garaging overnight required for the top 2 when I'm at home, plus trackers.

NFU

I was with Chubb and Zurich for a while but I fond NFU cheaper for a portfolio of cars. Very flexible and excellent policy. I can switch cars in and out with an email. They also insured a race car and a car transporter for me.

Can anyone above confirm they have agreed value on any of the cars on the policy? I would want that for 2 or 3 of mine

All mine ( currently 4) on agreed value basis -currently policy with Chubb having switched from Zurich PC who despite being the renewal company wanted to charge a lot more for seemingly no good reason !

I have a collectors policy via First Point underwritten by Azur Private Clients Group (AIG) - Gary Adair arranged it.

Interestingly they don’t use your NCB and instead it’s based on your history of driving supercars - so was free to keep my NCB for the daily hack.

They weren’t the cheapest but it’s an all bells and whistles policy, free choice of repairer, and all sorts of provisions for reinstating classic cars etc and if covid stops being a thing the ability to go on a Europe hoon with all cover including breakdown is just something less to think about.

Agreed value on cars
365 day green card for EEA as standard’
Excess was 1500 but have full excess cover
100 excess on windscreen
Fully complete cover to drive any car including supercars I don’t own
Full European Breakdown cover
£150,000 legal expenses cover
£20m of third party property liability / unlimited bodily injury

First Point were fantastic to deal with and Gary threw in a years Supercar Driver membership.

Probably my favourite thing and proof HNW’s are spoilt, 10k of therapy if I get abused to ensure I don’t wet the bed,

20. Road rage
We will pay for the reasonable costs, which are agreed by us, up to a maximum of £10,000 in any one policy period, which are incurred by you, a family member, or a chauffeur travelling with you as a result of any one occurrence of road rage within the territorial limits in respect of:
15
PART III – VEHICLE
a. medical expenses; and
b. psychiatric services as prescribed by a physician psychologist or other mental health professional incurred within 12
months of the road rage occurrence

'64 Karmann SC; Andy Prill / Shasta 912-based race motor, ca. 120hp. Lowered, new dampers, Fuchs, no rear seats, bucket fronts, proper period spots etc. Was an HSCC race car at one point; US car originally. Just put the exhaust back to standard from the race exhaust to make it more usable for touring.

Taking it to Goodwood Monday week to see if it still goes round adequately.

+1here for Nowell Richards - we were long time NFU clients, but their once unbeatable prices have hardened (by their own admission) and the service at our local office has deteriorated.

Jon at Nowell Richards reduced the premium for 7 cars and the service has been up a level
