Hi guys, looking for some help if anybody can!

Just briefly, my driving record includes a TT99 (6 month ban for totting up) and an IN10 (driving without correct insurance)

Currently finding as a result of this, no one is willing to offer me coverage for any price at all on my F430.

I know it’s a pretty terrible driving history but surely I can’t be the only super car driver with one… any idea who might offer me coverage? I’ve spent days on the phone to all the convicted driver specialists google throws up, but no one will touch it!

Cheers guys!

Oh wow. The ban was 3 years ago and I haven’t exceeded the speed limit since and the IN10 was a genuine mistake as a result of adding myself as a named driver to the wrong vehicle instead of my partners. I was paying over £6k a year insurance for our household, not like I was trying to get away with anything.

You would really determine that I don’t belong on the road?

That’s certainly a consideration, but even then I could do with it being insured and not SORN while trying to sell it

Some quite harsh words on here - am sure not everyone is always a saint. Usually worth finding out the context before coming to a judgement.....

which is what a decent insurer is going to want to do - so you need to be able to find one that has the ability to talk to you and arrange appropriate underwriting in order to be able to get covered.

Having tried the Google suspects and had no luck, I'm starting to think it'll be very difficult, but there's also a saying that everything is insurable..... try some of the classic car people, try some sympathetic brokers with wide range of options, and ensure you tell them the full story - driving without insurance will be a big turn off for many - doing it by mistake whilst paying for insurance on other vehicles is more understandable. My insurer misclassified my car despite me telling them what it was and giving them the registration, so mistakes can be made on both sides.

I'd suggest NFU if you have a local office who you can ring and chat to, as they can be helpful. Good luck. But only drive insured.

I'm not so sure, 6 months ban then caught without insurance, and now wants to insure a supercar.
I reckon the harsh words are merely summing up what the underwriters are thinking, hence why he can't find a mug to insure him.

Maybe he could buy something like a vw polo and insure that for a year and demonstrate he can be trusted. Meanwhile he could squirrel the penis extension away with some storage insurance for 12 months and learn the error of his ways.

Have you tried Adrian Flux? In the good old max power era , they would insure just about anyone and anything ( at a price! )

Sounds like you got a chip on your shoulder, he's not asking you for your opinion of him as a person he:s asking for advise on who may be able to insure him. If you have nothing useful to say, say nothing.

I can't help, but given how cheap insurance is in the UK, I would assume that there must be somebody who is willing to insure you for a higher price. If I were you, I would speak to multiple brokers and given them the full information. If you know any lawyers focused on defending driving offenses, they might also be able to give you some pointers.

Also if I understand your original post correctly [I don't have a UK license] you received too many points due to multiple infractions in a row and while having an insured car drove with one you were not insured on - both do not sound terrible to me [it is not like you drove drunk and caused a huge pileup].

Good luck

I'm not sure if you realise, but this isn't quite Russia yet, and I can say anything I like.

You're welcome.

BTW I don't have a chip on my shoulder, but I do think this thread is hilarious

Try Manning UK, based in South England, I have a high performance vehicle insured with them right now.

Mind you, i'm not in your predicament at all though.

I nearly bought a Ferrari 360 last year but, I changed my mind at the last minute.

Good luck.

I've had a short ban for speeding before, totted up quite a few points then there was someone hiding in the bushes I didn't see. It's easy to get points when driving fast cars imo

my insurance didn't go up as much as I expected because they judged it more on how many claims i'd made and had been with them a long time

Some people on here have done no wrong in their life?
More likely they have never been caught!
Just jealous knobs Mate.
Good luck with your search I'm sure loads on here wish you well.
Sounds like a great car you have.
I'll bet these are the 'type of people' who send in all of the Dash Cam evidence!
Maybe if they'd stuck in a bit at School they wouldn't be so sore about what life has 'Dealt them'!

Bit off topic, and I know it's not universal, but did you not have a policy in your name that had Driving Other Cars cover?

Is it worth looking into fleet insurance at all?

Not exactly the same, but when I got a quote to add my business partner to the trade policy (i.e cover on anything with an engine) with his 9 points the premium difference was pretty reasonable.

Obviously a trade policy probably isn't what youre after, but I know people who have fleet style policies that work in a similar way, might be worth looking into?
