Transferring a Deposit on a Ferrari to a different model?
Discussion
I'm not sure if this is so relevant here seeing as most experiences are UK/EU based on this forum however, a few months ago I put a deposit on a Ferrari Portofino M but then I drove the SF90 Spider and now want to transfer to that.
As some background, here in Australia ordering is a three step process;
Initial sales order signed, plus $25K deposit
Allocation is confirmed, another 25K deposit
Car delivered, balance paid.
I'm at the initial step, paid the $25K but haven't had allocation.
I'd like to transfer the order to a SF90 Spider (over twice as much in value so I thought they'd be keen to do this) but I'm being told it's not possible and I need a new SF order and thus lose my deposit on the Porto.
Can anyone who's had experience of ordering a car via Ferrari confirm this is correct?

There may or may not be local consumer law to confirm your position but either way you might want to consider if you really want to do business with a dealer that appears to have so little respect for its customers as to enforce that kind of rip-off
As an aside haven't new SF90 order books closed since November or is it just the hard top ?
