Hi,

I'm travelling over to the UK at the end of the month to finalise a spec on a new car with Lamborghini (main reason for trip)... and then heading up to the Cottswolds for 3 days (the main reason I'm telling my wife :-)

Can anyone recommend a good car rental company outside of the usual Hertz, etc?

We land in Heathrow and will be heading to Reading first. Ideally a Range Rover or maybe something a little faster if options allowed?

Thanks in advance for your help.

(PS: I don't want to hassle Lamborghini for a demo car, etc... I would prefer to rent a car for 3 days)

Pretty sure Hertz "dream collection" stuff would cover what you wanted.

I've used these guys before (although not recently) : https://www.supercarexperiences.com
They were pretty flexible and accommodating when I last used them but don't know how prices compare to the bigger outfits.

I am not sure why you don't as Lamborghini, even if it was one of the loaners they have available the servicing side.
Going anywhere nice in the Cotswolds? I am outside Oxford if you want dinner recommendations.

If you want something exotic i’d Recommend bespokes in kings cross - they are very reasonable and didn’t sting me for any deposit deductions - they have a nice selection including a huracan.

Of the mainstream firms probably hertz dream collection if you want something like a Range Rover, Mayan or G63 - I wouldn’t bother with Avis or s8xt, their deposit levels are eye watering - something like 10-15k...

Thanks all, much appreciated.

@oharedm - heading to Soho Farmhouse for a few days... but would welcome restaurant recommendations too, as will spend a night up there before Soho Farm House, thank you.

I see Hertz are looking for £2,400 for a G63 for 4 days... i'd nearly drive over from Ireland instead :-)

I don't want to rent a supercar... i've always had something against the idea of renting a supercar (each to their own)... however I would like to get something more enjoyable than your typical car hire (i.e - Opel Corsa), so might go with a Range Rover Sport (£1,400).

Hi,

I live about 10miles from Soho Farmhouse. Not been yet, I know a member who intends to invite soon.
The road to Soho Farmhouse is on one of my circular driving routes in the 488.
If you are are foodie, this is a 1 star gastro pub.

If you are heading to Reading, I presume you are going to Lambo Pangbourne?
You have Lambo, Aston and Bentley next to each other, so just bug them all in turn for a 3 day demo. One of them will give in smile

You get a base Audi A6 from the servicing side at Pangbourne, so be careful!

To be fair - he will fit right in with the locals round Burford and Stow with a base A6 smile
