Potentially looking at getting an R8 V10 Plus as my next car, and was looking at getting an insight at Servicing/Maintenance costs from pervious owners? Is there anything in particular I should look out for maintenance wise on a 2016-2018 car?(looking more pre facelift as no particulate filters = noise!) What would I be looking at for yearly maintenance? Would it be possible to get an extended warranty from Audi? Never had a car of this sort of calibre (have had an RS6 C7 previously, not for a few years though. Currently running a Golf GTI) so any insights would be appreciated!

R8's are generally reliable - .some seem to service every 24 months but some owners prefer annual servicing regardless of mileage.

Yes you should be able to get an extended warranty - you can get a quote/renew online if you provide the reg, mileage etc. - search Audi Warranty.

So running costs roughly:

- Service - £1,000 major, £500 minor with additional £400 servicing needed for the auto gearbox every 4 years.
- Tax - £600
- Insurance - £500-£1,000 (depending on your circumstances/history/age etc.)
- MOT - £50
- Warranty £1,000-£2,000 PA although many owners don't bother and put the money away in a fund ready for any work

So budget around £2k-£3k PA the higher end if you want a warranty

I have just picked up my 4th R8, A 2020 R8 V10 Coupe Performance Carbon Black. Running costs for all the previous three have been very reasonable and my last one (a 2017 R8 V10 Perfromance) was utterly reliable and only needed scheduled maintenance.and in-line with what @R8Reece advised.

Just add something in for Tires which will last a good while, I typically get just over 10,000 miles, but if you do enjoy the performance you will get less.

My latest, picked up 10 days ago.....

Very reliable cars, very cheap to own.

Full Audi warranty approx £2k for the first year, then £1k a year after that.

Thank you for the breakdown, much appreciated! Gives a good look at the potential outgoings!

Congratulations, latest looks lovely! Out of interest, do you notice much difference in sound while driving, as I assume your car has the filters on it, muting the exhaust compared to your old one? (If you've had a chance to drive it with all this fuel madness going on here in the UK!) Obviously different story from outside of the car, but would be interesting to know if there was much of a difference from the inside. Seems like a good idea to ask a guy who's had 4 of them wink Good to know they've been reliable for yourself and many others.

Seems to be the common review, looks like I shouldn't have too much to worry about! Thank you!

Somerset, garaged. Perhaps they help. I get insurance practically given to me.

Admiral multicar. The R8 and my Yeti come in under £300, including my other half. She added £12 to the R8 , but refuses to drive it!

Crazy cheap insurance fellas! My 570s and Q7 still cost me just over 1k, I'm 42 and based in London (which doesn't help of course).

I think I paid £500 for each of two services over three years, and not a penny more, for anything.

There’s not much that needs doing on them. The engine’s one of the best that anyone’s ever made, and doesn’t need much maintenance.

Yup, same here - probably one of my cheaper cars to maintain. Except petrol - obvs! hehe

Had one that’s just sold. 18 months needed 4 tires and that was it.

Truly one of the only cars I’ve ever missed.
