I'm investing in a Lambo soon, I had my mind set on a 2015 huracan, which is now selling for around 120k, however you can now pick up slightly older avatadors around 2012 for 150k, which one is the better Lambo for the money though?

Entirely different cars, you need to try both. Aventador is much more old school, wider and bigger, older gearbox technology that requires finesse to get right. Potentially much bigger running costs but to me much more of an occasion and would be no contest my choice of the two.

Huracan much easier to jump into and drive quick immediately mainly due to gearbox and size but a bit more cramped. Indicators on the steering wheel take awhile to get used to (AV has traditional setup). Seems better made and can take some hard driving without problem but watch out for things like the rear grille melting. Much more mass produced.

+1.
Drive both. And you’ll know.

Are either of these a particularly good investment?

The Huracan is a lovely Sports car - the Aventador (S onwards) are an Event!

Makes me smile just looking at her parked in the garage. Once you master the single clutch it's an amazing car to drive and hides the weight and size really well. Nothing but positive appreciation and comments from people passing by etc. Attracts a lot of attention too - a proper hyper car for supercar money IMHO..

I have not driven either one, but for me it would be the Aventador by a wide margin if prices are really that close subject to your use case. If for example you want to do track days or commute in a city like London, then I suspect the AV would require a pretty substanial level of commitment in terms of running costs, but if it is a weekend car then imo no contest. I am still tempted by one, esp the Roadster or the SV - just so much more special - probably to a degree - because of its old school nature (relatively speaking).
I am not a fan of DCT boxes and a big fan of V12s though, so that might play a part

Had 3 Huracans, 2 Perfs and a standard 610/4 great cars all of them, very quick and very versatile! The standard car was very good despite what the journos said at the time.
3 Aventador now, a standard 2013 car and S 2018 new and now an Sv. Aventadors are by a long way more of an event. Prefer the Sv out of all of them again but they are very expensive to maintain, that said the H is more expensive than any Ferrari I’ve owned to look after!

I remember when you got it - how has it been in the end (not tempted to keep it?)

It’s been fun but long term I’d rather not have the money tied up in something like this.

Thanks, I like it a lot.

Would just rather have the cash out of it now, moving to a bigger house and the car is kept in my unit which I’m giving up when the lease expires in the next 6 weeks so it’s a good time all round really.
