Keeping your No Claims Valid on a Classic Car Policy
Discussion
I am looking to get a classic car policy but one problem with that it doesnt take into account No Claims Bonus.
Next year my No Claims will be 2 years old and if it isnt used it will be lost.
Half tempted to insure myself on the cheapest car on ebay just to keep it valid. Seems bit crazy to have to do this.
Anyone have a workaround for this?

Buy a really cheap car that's very cheap to insure. Put a policy on that to keep the no claims going.
You don't even have to do it every year, normally they'll let you have gaps of a couple of years without losing it.
The car doesn't even have to physically exist, if you think about it. As long as you've got the V5C, you could scrap the car itself, and no one will know.

I read on here that you can "retain" NCB on some classic car policies, although you won't accrue any additional years whilst the NCB is "paused" in this way and nor can your NCB be applied to the policy itself. Worth asking your classic car insurer, rather than buying and insuring a cheap car just to maintain your NCB.

ETA : Ah, I think I understand.Next year my No Claims will be 2 years old and if it isnt used it will be lost.
You have 14 years NCD which you aren't currently using, and next year it will have been unused for 2 years (if you don't apply it to a policy) and hence will lose it.
