Ferrari 812 - please help!!
Discussion
Ladies and gentlemen, I’m looking for advice from experts in this field. My husband turns 50 in August and his family and I are pulling our resources to buy him his first Ferrari - I’m so excited!!
I’ve spotted one local to where I live and have been to see it, it’s gorgeous and the interior is exactly what I think he would like. However I’m a bit dubious as it has 6000 miles on the clock, but the dealer thinks the seller will take a deal at £210k.. is it a good deal or am I better off spending a bit more to get one with lower mileage? I’m not sure if the forum allows links so please take it down if it isn’t appropriate, but I have pasted the link below. I’d be so grateful for any advice as I just want to do the right thing. Thank you in advance for your help.

Others will be better placed to give feedback in pricing. All I can say is that I really like the spec of that car - color, rims, seats, carbon and the LEDs
Mileage is an issue from a resale perspective, so as long as you don't overpay for a high mileage car, you should be fine. Especially if it is a long term ownership view (I'd be surprised if a birthday present gets sold anytime soon/ever). In terms of the mechanicals, you don't have to worry about mileage - they can easily take it and usually behave better if driven regularly. My FF is at c 83k km now and no issues (well, the Nav screen is buggered, but that's more likely age than mileage related)
Good luck with your search

I'd be tempted to look in the main dealer network as well in order to get additional emotional backup including full warranty extension after the third (?) year
Also are you absolutely sure its what he'd like and that you can get insurance - I don't want to put a downer on a lovely gift but its a lot of money
The mileage is just fine for a two year old car

If your husband doesn't do a high mileage it will catch up with itself after a couple of years,
I would however go main Ferrari dealer if the premium is not much more ,it's always good to have a good relationship with
one if you can, When buying mine from a main dealer the price of their cars were inline with the specialists plus i managed to get
a decent discount but i hear good stock is short so maybe not so generous now.
Good luck with your search, Oh ,you don't happen to have a sister with a similar generous disposition that happens to be single
That 812 at Imperials is a very highly optioned car and in a great colour combo. If it can be bought for £210k then its superb value for money. At a piffling 6k miles it still hasn't done enough to be properly run in so i'd consider it still low mileage. Its got pretty much all the Carbon fibre options inside and outside plus JBL Hi-Fi and Passenger display.
I'd snap it up personally and its still under Ferrari factory and might have the extra fourth year included. One of the nicest 812s currently for sale.
If it has a clean history ie no major accident then it should hold itd value IMO.

That's a lovely colour. The only suggestion I would have is to consider the seats on these types of cars. Some people really get on with the racing seats and some don't. Personally, I prefer the standard ones for more comfort on long drives.
A couple more questions that people here could answer:
Will the exhaust affect the Ferrari warranty?
It looks like it doesn't have ADAS unless UK cars are different?

ADAS was not compulsory in Europe, as I gather it is in the US (at least from 2020).A couple more questions that people here could answer:

He won’t be selling it any time soon, so you make a good point. And in your view, you don’t think it will come with any problems with that amount of mileage on it?

He has bought and sold cars through that dealer in the past and we have a decent relationship so I’m not worried about that at all. He has a DB11 which he was looking to sell before Covid, he doesn’t know yet, but he’ll be part exchanging that for the 812 with the dealer so it’s not entirely a present from the family...
