Aventador engine cover keeps opening

As above, can be fine for weeks then it’ll ping itself open a couple times a week.

If I remove the bulkhead cover behind the seats that the handle is mounted to, it’ll eventually lock into place.
But takes a few go’s and just won’t ‘catch’ until it finally does.

Any ideas?

It has a Novitec wing but the engine cover starts before the wing

I have, in the past, had small niggly issues with one of the engine cover catches on the Diablo, Murcielago and Jalpa. Aventador’s been fine. It can be a simple alignment problem. Or need greasing. Get it sorted when it’s next in for a service?

Spray some WD40 on the latch and down the cable sleeve could be the latch is not fully springing back when shutting cover
