With my wife planning to drive the Aston on fun weekend trips, the only way the rest of us can tag along will be in a 4 seater. So what would people consider? Must be interesting, fun to drive, have enough space for 2 nearly teenagers in the back, and not be so stupidly depreciating that its too expensive a proposition. Buying used, obviously.

Current candidates:
- Ferrari California T
- M3/5 of some vintage
- Evora S (is there enough space in the back?)
- Porsche 911
Sell the aston you have, get a rapide.
Buy a proper focused sports car to be the sports car instead of the Aston.
Win win
Seriously, the rapide is a great solution for you I think
Look at the rear seats on thirs

That article is nearly 4 years old and still McLaren hasn’t come up with a 4 seater. I suspect that the business case doesn’t stack up when you look at the sales figures of other supercar 4 seaters. darty said:
Alfa Guilia QV. Love mine and still feels special when I drive it even though its over 3 years old. Quick, great handling, relatively rare and my two boys have more than enough room in the back.
i like that, how about this one: https://usedcars.alfaromeo.co.uk/search/vehicle/al...Spindoctor said:
I wouldn't put teenagers in the rear of a 911, unless you want to exact revenge for something. Evora also pretty cramped in the back.
V8 Mustang?
V8 Mustang convertible? as the have a lot more headroom in the back, than the coupe.V8 Mustang?
I'm 5 10, and can sit in the driver seat, and in the back with good headroom in the convertible (same seat position) no chance in the coupe. (bonus, only realized after I had bought one, teenagers easily fit in the back)
and you then have a V8 convertible... ! (and in my experience, the public don't hate you, all smiles)
though an M3/M5, or Audi RS6 would be better for 4 people over long journeys.

I regret selling my RS6 more than any other car, with the Milltek exhaust it made you laugh, I would buy her back if I could.
Of those, and for the same job, I've had an Evora, a Carrera 4, an RS6, and currently have a Lusso and a QV.
Evora - too small in the back for what you need. Same with a 911, imo. Ok for short trips, used a 997 Carrera 4 GTS as a daily one winter- good fun!
Alfa - great car for the money, either used or with discount. I'm on my second. Very traction limited on cold wet days, and I switch to winter tyres.
It's also a good size for a daily, but with 5 seats, and plenty room (newer cars have folding seats and CarPlay which are pluses for me)
RS6 is a level up in quality, slightly less exciting to throw around, but can handle anything, with 4wd. It's a bit big round town, whereas QV is a size down, which makes a difference. Could easily get another, previous series, biggest downside were the fake exhaust pops and bangs that drove me mad.
Lusso - best of the lot, unsurprisingly. You can get them for half list price, but they feel list price! Powertrain is fantastic
I use it a lot - 5k miles in 5 months, and also on winter tyres atm. Best for long trips, another one that's a bit too big round town, and it's subtle, but still a Ferrari, if you want low profile.
Maerati - very nice, and I once had a quattroporte for 2 years, sadly dont like the looks of the latest ones and too many diesels. The V8 GTS with a Larini was probably the sweetest sounding car I've owned. Maybe ageing to much now?
Test drove a Panamera, it was a hybrid and I thought it was terrible - too heavy - but no doubt a 'normal' one is good.
For one that does it all without thinking, and reasonable money, I'd personally go RS6. (Maybe RS4 if 6 is too big - I had a B7 manual and it was the sweet spot, not sure how interesting the new ones are by comparison.
Lusso is a better car than all of them, but comes with a better price tag!
