That Ferrari feeling
Discussion
So 2020 has been a truly woeful year in so many ways, including my dear old Dad having some real health woes. These triggered a truly epic purchase of a 2019 488 GTB last week, making the switch from a 2019 Nissan GTR.
I was born in the 80's and lusted after GTO's, F40's and 355's, sadly all reaching price levels and/or ages that put them in the unobtanium bracket. I had generally lost the love for the modern Ferrari, still impressive but FF's and the like whilst epic machines, just don't get me excited as a vehicle to lust after aesthetically at least.
But WOW how wrong have I been, Dad's 488 is in the obligatory Rosso Corsa, with a smattering of carbon, a multitude of other extras like the LED wheel, but more importantly the Sports Exhaust.
What a machine. Its lines and curves are beautiful, the performance is frankly ludicrous and the noise incredible. I now wholeheartedly disagree that the turbo engines don't sound good, it sounds glorious! What was equally impressive is the dynamic composure of it, it feels far more planted than the 4wd car it replaced, and the ride is smooth and compliant even on the roughest of UK B-roads. Bravo Ferrari, we're making memories and this is one I wont forget for a long time indeed.

Driving home in my first Ferrari with the biggest grin, couldn't help looking down at the prancing horse
on the horn button and the realisation of what i was driving,
After my divorce and being Ferrariless for 2 years i found myself grinning again on my way home in my 2nd Ferrari.,

So which Ferrari's do owners rate most?
I love the look of a 328, 355, 550, 512TR, F40. Most newer Ferrari's leave me cold.
The only Ferrari I've driven was a LHD 355 on a trackday which unsurprisingly left me unimpressed (probably not the best example and LHD gear change).
I've had a range of cars including Elise, Caterham and 911's...from 3.2 Carrera to 993 C4 and 996 turbo.
Still feel I should scratch the Ferrari itch.
Be interested to hear what people recommend?
