Most Collectable Of Each Marque This Century?
Discussion
What do you think will prove to be the car for each marque that will appreciate the most in the next 20 years?
Anything post 2000?
I’ll start with the Audi R8 GT coupe.
Ferrari California (manual only three made).
Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni.
Porsche GT3 Touring.
Any thoughts for Mercedes, Maserati, McLaren, Aston etc?

GT3 Touring might suddenly become very common...think it is going to be very popular on 992 and is due to be announced officially just after Xmas. So I think like the 991.2GT3 Touring softened 911 R prices I think the same might happen to the 991.2. 992 will be available with PDK too which makes a lot of sense for an understated daily. Might be the most popular variant...
I think the 991.2 Speedster might be one to watch...there are a lot for sale right now for a limited run car but I suspect that’s because OPC’s gave them to their standard preferred clients of whom a lot are in it for a quick turn It’s the only Speedster they’ve made with anything like a performance engine since the original 356 Carrera Speedster in the 50’s. All the other’s have had pretty standard engines...it’s also the first and only one the GT department have had anything to do with so its chassis is much more focused than previous cars. There’s a lot to like about a soft top with a sublime naturally aspirated engine and a 6 speed manual gearbox.

Taking current values into account
Ferrari - I would go with the 550 Barchetta given relatively low production numbers and manual full convertible
Lamborghini - The 670 SV
Porsche - tough one, they just build so many of every version nowadays. Maybe the new 935 although already quite pricey.

This century so far....
McLaren, post 2000, has to be the 675LT even over the P1 and Senna as the 675LT is still relatively affordable at the moment so has room to grow. Only 70 coupes in the UK and most in long term homes so rarity and lack of availability should see desirability and prices grow to at least equal the 458 Speciale.
Ferrari, who knows, market very fickle and certain models like the 430 SCUD could just all of a sudden go stratospheric, or not...
Porsche I think a 996GT2, really old school RWD almost 500bhp manual car. Still under £100k. The 996 is the next 964, its cheap, being modded by owners as originality isn't important just now. This will end soon like it did with the 964 and then the 'halo' GT2 will follow a similar uplift in popularity as did the the 964 & 993RS. The 996 GT2 is a car I would be sticking away now if I could. Of course the Carrera GT still has much possible growth and could easily attain F40 prices, it is now the go-to analogue hypercar for a certain generation even over the F40 but is much more affordable. Porsche made a gen 2 Cayenne GTS in manual with a panoramic roof. There are a couple in the UK, in 6 years never seen one for sale. Its these unicorn spec Porsche's that collectors really desire, even of 'normal' cars like the cayenne and will go for twice the price of a 'normal' car.
Lamborghini, anything RWD and manual but don't overlook the Huracan Avio, only 250 world wide in unique colours. I would have an Avio over a Perf if I was in the market for one.
Audi, just the R8 V10 Manual coupe but it wont appreciate to the extend of the marques above.
Special shout out for the VW XL1. That's going places, a car that cost VW £1M to make for each car and can be bought for £80k!!!! Try finding one, I have been looking for a year.
If I was putting together a collection of rare cars, built this century that may appreciate / be collectible it would definately include the following:-
McLaren 675LT - preferably roof scoop only a handful in the UK ther are only 70 coupes i think 5 with scoops
McLaren 650s LeMans - only 30 regualr 650 coupes in the UK, LeMans will be ultra low
Lotus Exige 430 CUP (only 29 and now only made to order)
Lotus Elise S1 sport 160 (would be the 190 but that was 1998) - Just over 100 UK cars
Porsche 996 GT2 - under 100 in the UK
Porsche Carrera GT - 73 in the UK
Porsche Cayenne GTS Manual - potentially 28 manual Cayennes in the UK
VW XL1 - 14 UK cars
Honda Insight ZE1 manual has to be in citrus - 243 of all colours
Honda Integra DC2 Type R - JDM non round headlights - around 600
Tesla (original) Roadster - 32 in the UK
TVR Sagaris - 159 in the UK
No Ferrrai or Lamborghini for me though but there are only 119 430 SCUD's

I think Mr JWW on YouTube just got an XL1 which is annoying! The original UK DC2 batch was 400 cars as far as I remember, so rarer than JDM? Also, was that not 1998 to be pedantic?
Hope you're right about Exige - deciding whether or not to selll mine in the spring.
Maybe Ferrari 612 - last V12 4 seater 'coupe'...manual if possible
599 GTO, agree above with 550 Barchetta, 360 CS (more than scud or speciale)
Gallardo Mk1 SL, imo, especially manual, or Balboni (same)
675LT - yes
SLS GT
911 R, Speedster prob also good, but 2x numbers

I was chatting to a Lotus contact last week, 350 Sport production has ceased, last UK car is for sale at Oakmere. 410 & 430 are available for factory order only. As it stands only 29 UK 430 cars, I do know a couple of people with orders so would expect it to end at around 35 RHD cars being made. New Lotus will be out soon, spring according to rumors I have heard. Same time as new Hybrid McLaren.

How about the Gallardo STS - very rare (Max 150) and still cost less than 200k - look really cool too IMO, which usually helps Any left field suggestions?
