Hi anyone know much about panteras? but know nothing about them is it a sharp learning curve? Is their things that really need checking out on these motors? Are they an everyday car? The one I'm looking a gt5 or gts looks pretty track focused.

Had a seat in the driver seat of one years back. When they say Italian cars are designed for long arms and short legs they are not kidding. I could barely get my right leg.im past the door frame and once in the bulkhead seemed bizarrely close to the seat. The seat may have been oddly positioned as was just a brief snoop around.

Is that the black one just come on the market today ? Owned two Pantera's, one GT5 and a early narrow bodied car. If over 5ft 10" you may have trouble as the seat will only go back so far as the engine bulkhead stops it similar to the Lotus Esprit.Edited by youngalistai on Friday 27th November 22:41
The engines are bullet proof but can get a little tired , A crate 425 bhp stroked 408 can be bought for under $6,500 plus freight and taxes or a lot less for a 351 . The ZF gearbox is a different matter and is super expensive if needing work.
Not really suitable for every day use unless your commute is on traffic free A or B roads but being the age they are things will fall off them ,best left for weekend enjoyment .
Rust is another problem as they have a monocoque integral chassis and rust from the inside out, My GT5 was a Florida import that was
garaged under a beach house that was on stilts and had rusted internally which couldn't be seen until it's to late .
I love both Italian and American muscle cars so for me the Pantera is the perfect mix and going to the wright places you won't get mugged
for parts by the Italians .
I loved my Pantera's ,sort of a Italian hot rod and wish i never sold them but i do say that a lot , If i had the space and the money i wouldn't
part with any of them so by now would need a multi story car park of my own..
Good luck with your search ,you won't regret it.

Youngalistai,
The GT5 had riveted flared fenders on it, while the GTS had slightly flared (compared to the Pre L early cars that were molded of the front and rear quarters. The GT5S had molded flared fenders and typically had a Countach rear spoiler. I have an early 1972 Pre L Pantera that has the small split bumper, no flares, or wings. I just think the original svelte Tom Tjaarda design was the most sensuous and best looking. I've owned mine about twenty years. (See below)

Lovely looking car, sometime less is more. Wish i still had mine but Hay Ho had and still got some nice things .The GT5 had riveted flared fenders on it, while the GTS had slightly flared (compared to the Pre L early cars that were molded of the front and rear quarters. Hey rat rod,
Find yourself in southern California anytime, and you're welcome to take mine out for a weekend and have some fun. With over 500hp now (after an engine transplant during restoration/modification) it's a little more urgent than it was when I got it two decades ago.. The invitation is always open.

She'll be gassed up and ready to go. My next door neighbor has one as well as a friend who lives a few blocks away who just bought one, So, you'll have plenty of choices. Below are both mine on the left and my friend's on the right.
Now there's a offer i can't refuse. very kind of you tberg. Forgot to say i did have a narrow body Pantera after the GT5 ,R.H.D Totally stock, One lady owner, 26,000 miles but had a cheap
repaint before i got it. Found it easier to drive in town ,went through gaps that i would have left the wheel arches behind in the GT 5,
Should have kept that one as well. got to stop saying that.
