Urus 4 days in - likes and dislikes

Likes:
1. Presence
2. Looks
3. Build quality
4. Makes journeys feel special
5. Technology - some glitches but well thought through and presented
6. Anima modes work very well - I bounce between Stradala, Sport and Ego (oh the irony) several times during a journey
7. Persistent oil temperature readout (every performance car should have one)
8. The engine, drivetrain and brakes are sublime, the car defies physics given its bulk
9. People’s generally very positive reaction to the car - a parking attendant (would you believe) came up to me and started asking about the brakes (he was amazed by the size of the front calipers)
10. It’s hugely practical and a brilliant daily driver
Dislikes:
1. Exhaust pops on overrun in Sport and Corsa - I love loud exhausts but am not a fan of machine gun sounds especially in an SUV
2. Speed limits are displayed on the map in the central screen but not on the HUD or the dashboard - what were they thinking?
I am so pleased I bought the car - I am over 50 and my time in mid engined super cars is over but this car manages to combine a daily driver package with some drama and excitement to great effect.
I think that Ferrari are going to straggle to encroach on the Urus Super Sport SUV space when they launch so will be interesting to see what niche positioning they undertake and if they pull it off.

There’s a wonderful old bit video.
A white Countach tears down a dry dirt track, vines either side, throwing up clouds of iron red dust behind.
It comes up to a big old farmhouse and spins round to a stop.
The door flips up and a man in his early 70s gets out.
Ferruccio Lamborghini.
He’d certainly say that you’re never too old.

I’d take a Urus over any supercar, old guys in supercars are cringe.
I really like these, definitely first on my list for a lottery win.
Well that's me out,69 next mouth and still driving the wheels off them and still will as long as i can see.I really like these, definitely first on my list for a lottery win.
Never had a mid life crisis as far as i'm concerned i'm still 19 until i look in the mirror that is.

1. That’s an offensive sweeping, generalisation. I really like these, definitely first on my list for a lottery win.
You have no idea who the “old guy” driving that car is.
My old man went to a motor show with a friend of his once.
Both “old guys”.
There was a set up there in a mini.
A light flashed. You had to hit the brake. It timed your reaction to the nearest thousandth of a second. There was a leaderboard.
My dad’s mate asked to have a go. The “young guys” running the thing were a bit dismissive.
Red light flashes. Bang. Fastest time of the week.
The young guys were amazed at the old guy.
It was Tony Brookes. Won six Grand Prix. Used to drive for Ferrari.
My old man said that being driven around the Surrey Hills by him was breathtaking. Not cringe.
2. Or you can work for it.

Ha Ferrucio a great riposte, looks like the number plate needs a bit of work on it too, very chavtastic.
Hey Adam, apologies for slight detour you are right. I haven’t had the pleasure of driving an Urus but they do look spectacular and always come highly recommended by the Lamborghini sales people. Those of us over 60 who still drive super cars are a bit sensitive I guess.

Somewhat randomly, when my car came back from its last service, Ferrucio’s car was in the same trailer. Two separate bookings, total coincidence. Lives somewhere in UK now.A white Countach tears down a dry dirt track, vines either side, throwing up clouds of iron red dust behind.

Ha ha, I thought the same, I'm 53 and I hope there's many more years of mid engined super cars still to come
You've got no problems, your just a baby, wait till you get to 69, next one 70,as my son said that does sound really old dad, amazing what one year makes. Now where did i put my walking frame?

WOW ! Your Countch has travelled with Super Car Royalty. Can't believe it's in the UK, thought it would be pride of place in the Lamborghini Museum.
