Hello folks

As is the way of these things one of my rears has picked up a slow puncture on the first proper stretch of the new car's legs. Not been able to locate the offending object in the tyre inspecting it myself. I'm at a hotel near Edinburgh, does anyone have a local recommendation for a good tyre fitter that can look at a plug repair or replacement?

Slightly wary of taking the Mclaren to kwikfit, have heard stories of wheels picking up damage on balancing machines etc.

Cheers

Depending where you are staying there may be some local independant "supercar" garages that can help you out.

Are you in the city centre or on the outskirts?

May be worth posting in the Scotland section if you have not done so?

Know its a supercar, but I used Farmers Autocare at 194 Queensferry Rd to swap over my Audi RS4 tyres a while back and they were very careful with the wheels .

Only other place that I have trusted is Craig Moncrieff Cars in South Gyle who often swaps my winters (https://www.craigmoncrieff.com/) but he has does not supply tyres

Thanks for the recommendation George. RS4 wheels look painfully expensive to repair (especially the diamond cut ones) so I'd take that as a big thumbs up smile Will give farmers a try later today or tomorrow.

I always use Farmers and they are very good
(Marchmont)
Craig M also has good reputation and used to look after my Lotus before going on his own

Just back from Farmers off Queensferry road.

Fixed the puncture in 15 mins and refused to take payment eek

Coming up from London this blew my mind. Great lads, will make sure and find a way to order tyres through them when these need replaced. Thanks again for the recommendation.

Good to hear, and doesn't surprise me, have had same on more than one occasion

You might not know that Tom Farmer is the guy who founded qwik fit and then sold out to Ford
Good service comes from the top...he lives very close to where you were

I can vouch for them too.

Take my Merc ML and my old golf there for servicing, mot and tyres and it’s always been good .

No probs, glad I could help and you got sorted out.

Thanksfully the RS4 has gone so no worry on kerbing the diamond cut alloys anymore. Felt a bit of an indulgence anyway as my wife just left it at the park & ride each day, hardly used it as one of the dog hated the noise of the V8.
