looking to change my 991 turbo , more about experience and drama opposed to lap times and track days . just for a weekend/fun car . My options are r8 v10 plus mclaren 540/570 at the top end of budget but have test driven the f type r before and liked it , can get a good svr for mid 60's so quite abit cheaper than my other options. have heard alot of reliability issues with the f type ? also are they impossible to sell / horrendous depreciation ?

Not being funny but I dont think you will get many replies from the supercar forum if that answers your question but yes they do sound good

I own a Project 7 so not an SVR but the one thing that sets them apart other than the exhaust noise is the dampening. I had never owned a Jaguar before so have been really surprised how well these things drive. Done app 10.000k in mine and it puts a smile on your face everything you touch that gas pedal. Just hilarious.

For £65k for 575PS 700Nm AWD they do represent very good value for money

Is that a brown 300 SL in your garage? If so, very nice

Thread de-rail alert..... whoah that SL is the absolute business cool

Edited to add: You must be mad to swap your 911 for the Jag, apart from the exhaust note, they are a heavy lump of midlands iron. Test drove one when 911 shopping a couple of years ago, very very nice car obviously but not really special special. Project 7 a different cup of tea mind.

hornbaek you have a lovely collection. SVR is great value and sounds better than everything this side of a Lambo.

Hello,

I have an F type SVR amongst a few other things. It's a truly great car. So long as you get a pre 2018 car with the 'non gas filter' loud exhaust.

Very reliable, very fast. Very immediate response with the supercharged engine and a truly great noise. It delivers a lot of what makes cars fun and it will make you smile every time you drive it. Can you ask for more of a modern car than that?

If you are considering a 570s then that is my every day car. I have done over 30k (15k per year) in mine and it is a truly great car. It really depends how much you want to spend. If budget is tight then the Jaguar is safer perhaps as the parts warranty etc are cheaper. They are properly rare and great fun. it is a very fast sports car.

The Mclaren is a very rewarding car and perhaps a bit more serious. It is a proper super car (despite what Mclaren say). It asks you for more and delivers more. The combination of conventional suspension and carbon chassis with real old school hydraulic steering gives you more feel than the 720s and far more than its competitors. For what its worth the Mclaren will return 25-35mpg and the Jaguar 18-24ish.

Both cars I have found to be completely reliable.

I can't comment on the Audi R8 but I am sure others here can.
