Poor start by the Perf and the Spyder is heavier than the equivalent coupe.

Perf for me regardless smile

If I was in a Porsche and outran a Lambo I'd be thinking, was he actually trying or just toying with me? Branding is a strange thing

Yeah you are never going to recover from that start no matter who was the driver. Poor race really and makes it look a lot worse than it probably is.
Don't know if they used launch control or not ?
Lambo launch control is quite good but the Porsche system seems to be consistently the best.

I got jumped at the lights last week by a Golf R whilst in the Lambo Perf. No catching someone who leaves on amber unless you want to be doing 90 mph in a 40 which I most definitely do not. Probably pulled to 50 and then backed off

What a load bks.

The Performante wasn't even using launch control.

It's was creeping forward before he put his foot down.

Launch control requires foot on brake.

And only a few mph between them using a heavier, less aerodynamic Spyder and no launch control.

Are you suggesting a 2 Yr old Perf is quicker than the brand new 992 TTS then ?

Didn't say that.

But that video is nowhere near representative.

Bring your Perfs and please show us. Aug 22. Happy to have a run up the runway against any of you guys for a bit of fun. Bet I win in my 997. The 992 will murder you in a Perf. All bets taken smile

Your tuned car against my standard car. Real big of you. rolleyes

Bets. rofl Surprised you didn't say pink slips. rofl

Drag racing doesn't interest me in the slightest and I believe everything I said in my first post was correct.

I think it's a poor video that proves nothing because of the lack of launch control and using the heavier less aerodynamic Spyder.

I've also made no claims as to a Performante beating a 992 TTS.

It wouldn't 'murder' it though. This very video, with everything in the Porsches favour, and only a few mph difference at the end, amply proves that.

I won't hold my breath. I've said my piece and we won't agree, so further debate is pointless.

On the note I'll leave you to it.

Yank terms for a V5 log book I believe.

Anyway as regards 992 TTS v Lambo Huracan Performante spyder there is only one winner for sound which isn't in dispute and its neither german nor a sports car 😆

Porsche fights above its weight but just like an audi R8 its not a supercar in my eyes.
The volumes of them and association with a larger lower model range will always detract from the performance.
Personally i Would always strive for the higher brand even if it was the entry model than the top of the lower brand.

Applied this theory to my early property purchasing days and it has stood me well over the years with a portfolio certainly worth more than if I had adopted the reverse policy

Jeez William you do go on a bit the similarities to Rambo Lambo are quite striking.
The 992 turbo also licked a 720S in a quarter mile drag over on Carwow posting 10.1 seconds which is pretty incredible for a stock car...in the rolling race the 720S turned the tables. Would be interested in seeing the Perf in a rolling race with the Porsche too.

992 turbo s is beautiful made car but lacks the drama a supercar owner wants. Its a super car not a supercar Ones an emotional product the other is you know I cant even call the noise noise. Its not. Its very mute the way I'd describe. On performance there is no comparison you are comparing old tech with new tech. Money no object I'd take the Perf but even in these times the 992 turbo s is a compelling offering. Our 991 specced was more than these.

I'm getting the vibe that having similarity to Lambo Rambo is not a good trait yet all I have stated is an opinion.
If we were all the same it would be a very boring world.

TBH if there is a click to the forum and my views are not what the " in crowd" want to hear i think i will just go elsewhere where where freedom of speech is allowed.
Gee I've only been here a month and it feels like I'm getting bullied like the overweight school kid ??
There i was thinking ferrari chat could be bad at times lol
At least when I get a 675LT I will be able to join the McLaren owners Club which is at least restricted to actual owners

Fair enough, I'm just trying to get used to the forum etiquette and feeling sensitive about a number now of random digs at being like some some geezer from the past I've never heard of. Hey ho no one ever likes the new kid on the block
