GT3, GT3RS, 600LT or Performante?
Discussion
Hi guys. A true first world problem here. I'm looking at getting into a new car and the shortlist is:
991.2 GT3 (~£130k)
991.2 GT3RS (~£175k)
600LT (£140k Coupe or £165k Spider)
Hurucan Performante (~£175k)
Goals for the car are road trips and track days. I actually drive my cars, so it won't be a garage ornament. I'd probably put around 6000 miles a year on the car. I'm currently in a GT4, so another Porsche GT product is maybe not as exciting as jumping into another brand, but the cars are so good ...
The 600LT Spider probably excites me the most. I think it's the best looking car out of them all. Maybe the fastest and has a real drama with the roof, fancy doors and top exit exhausts. Downsides are of course the infamous McLaren build quality and concerns over reliability/niggles.
The Lambo isn't a car I'd ever considered before, but by all accounts it's supposed to be an incredible car. It has true supercar looks unlike a GT3. Reliability should be good.
Also, residuals are obviously a concern, hence I'm looking at £140k 600LT's which have already lost a huge chunk of change since their release.
So, over to you... what would you go for, and why?

PERFORMANTE That's it,sorted 991.2 GT3 (~£130k)

Performante spyder, jobs a good un !
Nothing in that list will excite as much as the N/A V10 with the roof down.
Plus only 550 made worldwide so due to rarity residuals should be good now after the 1st big hits already taken and probably the last Performante with huracan approaching run out

Great list to choose from and i love all of them as you do.!
I would factor my decision on bangs for buck personally if buying a used car..On that basis and ignoring the fact i am a Porsche and Ferrari owner i'd pick a 600LT Spider..The lightest, best looking and a Carbon tub to boot..Failing that a 600LT Coupe would be my choice if you save over £20K in the bargain.

Just my 2 pence worth
991.2 GT3 (~£130k) Great car, a lot of car for the money, drives like a Porsche
991.2 GT3RS (~£175k) - Great car, drives like a Porsche
600LT (£140k Coupe or £165k Spider) - Horrendously good value for money car, will loose money faster than the others.
Hurucan Performante (~£175k) - Probably the last NA V10, sounds & goes horrendously good, ASBO car.
But yeah, the "best car" is the Perf, just make sure you get the coupe with the sports seats - you could comfortably fit up to 6ft 4/5/6" depending how you are built.

There are only 2 cars in your list that will soak up the punishment of trackdays which you say you will do without it being a financially ruinous experience.
Look at what you "should" do before you take a McLaren on track and look at YT for previous owners experiences.
Research , research and research !
I was in the same boat as you and will use the car the same. Picked up my 991.2 GT3 last week. Heart wanted a McLaren but head firmly in the P camp.

This is a very good point, 6k miles a year on any of these is a reasonable amount....if a decent amount of that is track days have a good look at likely costs of that as I think there will be quite a difference. Isn’t there some requirement for McL to inspect cars pre and post track days ? That could turn into a logistical ball ache ! My car goes to a specialist pre track days but that’s 20 mins from my house so very easy to do and not main dealer prices. It’s not so
Not so sure about the perf for long trips. I considered one and found it too uncomfortable and boot too small for euro trips. Also thought about 600LT but went for a 675LT as its known to be the most reliable McLaren, should be at or near the bottom of the depreciation curve and is very special. Suspension very complaint and great cruiser with big boot. I have a 981 Spyder too and have tried a few GT3's and too harsh for long trips for me.

YouTuber's exaggerate! You need to take advice from the hundreds of owners in the owners club who have had very few issues. Most issues are paint which are repaired under warranty or small electrical gremlins to do with doors, windows and keys. McLarens are amazing cars. I know people with far more issues with Porsches than McLaren's. My Porsche has been fine though, as has my McLaren.Look at what you "should" do before you take a McLaren on track and look at YT for previous owners experiences.
