Should I stay with the same franchise?
Discussion
I recently purchased a brand new Ferrari from a Sytner dealer. I am now looking to buy a 992 Turbo S. Is it beneficial for my history (to hopefully be offered specials) if I buy the Porsche from another Sytner garage, even though it’s in a different location, or is the history only relevant for the same actual dealer? If so, a non Sytner would be more convenient me location wise.
Zero benefit IMHO. They are all treated as separate profit centres and run as though they were independent of each other so you will gain no bonus loyalty points from either the Porsche or Ferrari franchises just for staying "within group".
I have bought a lot of cars from a wide number of Sytner franchises over the years and up until around 5 years ago they had no visibility across the group of what a customer had bought. They have a customer database now with your buying history so when you walk in they should be able to see your buying history either by running your car registration number or after speaking to you. The bar to getting access to special models is now pretty high as they sell a lot of cars from each franchise. It may seem like you have spent a lot of money with them but the reality is they have high net worth customers who literally spend millions with them who will automatically be first in line. You may strike it lucky if you are building a relationship with one of the franchises but will likely find you are at the end of the queue in terms of production slots.

I use a Sytner OPC. My understanding is that when GT cars are allocated to them as a group sometimes the odd cars does get allocated centrally within Sytner. Whether that’s Sytner management or say Ferrari customers I don’t know...but I think it would need to be several cars to get that kind of centrally allocated car.
Buying a new 992 Turbo S will get you attention at an OPC anyway and on it’s own might get you something like a GT4....if you want a chance at an RS though you’ll need to have bought a lot of cars. Across 991.2 GT3 RS and GT2 RS most OPC’s got less than 15 cars....that was over an 18 month period of delivery. Some people got both....you need to be buying cars quarterly to get one I reckon. I don’t think having bought a Ferrari will make much difference for an RS .
It’s really down to each OPC. If you have an OPC in mind I’d ask the Ferrari dealer to make the intro and go and see the DP and ask them how they allocate cars.
