I looked and did not see that anyone else had posted this.
Totally baffling as to why owners of italian cars especially never seem to carry a fire extinguisher.
Luckily another driver/ passer by had one.
But I dont know, do you save it or let it burn and claim on the insurance.

Let it burn and get as far away from it as possible...

White 458 drives past at the end, driver probably happy they chose that rather than an Aventador. Why do Lamborghini's seem to self combust so often?

This. Getting close to a fire in a car with a hand held fire extinguisher is likely to put you in harm’s way. Better off getting well out of the way and letting the insurance company sort it out later.

Yeah but if it isn’t insured fully comp or a track car, then you are the one paying for it so trying to save it / limit the damage might well make sense

Not heard of one going up since recall work which was a manufacturer design flaw.
Could have been any reason, more likely if moving was that something split.

Aftermarket exhausts just exacerbated the problem.

The V10's can suffer from brittle O rings in the fuel system - not sure if it's the same for the V12 though.

Surely no car at that level is TPFT? And even if it is... It's covered anyway should it decide to get a little toasty.

So either way, let it burn and stay safe.

If the fuel tank explodes whilst you are stood next to it trying to extinguish it you will quickly wish you hadn't bothered.

If it's on fire just get the f*ck away from it.

Really? Can’t remember one for quite some time. Last Aventador I saw on the net on fire had a modified exhaust on it, I saw it on the ramps being repaired!

Another ferrari caught fire this week.
Jump to 16 minutes in. Such a shame because the guy loves his cars.

Bad judgement by me thererolleyes I always seem to remember the only cars catching fire were owned by knobs who sat there revving the nuts off them and they were mostly Lamborghini's, come to think of it there has been a few 458's go up in smoke. Best to get a McLaren, they don't burn so easily.

I'm off to Coventry then....
