Contemplating coming out of my f12 into a 488, had 458 California 430 etc in past , F12 for some reason just didn’t look as nice as 488, would it be a mistake seen by the masses , or is a change as good as the other , any pros or cons ??

That's a step too far - you're missing the crucial V10 experience biggrin

12s sound better but 8s are easier to package. V10s are pointelss because the I5 is soooo good that sticking another one on the side of it is just wanton, unnecessary showing off.

It depends on the deal to you to px for a 488..Two completely different cars with very similar performance..If i was currently looking for another Ferrari for £160k which buys both an F12 or 488 it would be the F12 every time..However i already have a nice 458 so my biased view is wanting another Ferrari to complement it, which the F12 does..

Both totally different.... the F12 is all about the engine; never owned one but had for 3 week demo loan when my 458 was waiting on warranty work. The 488 is ridiculously accomplished. The way it puts the power down is incredible given the torque, you can literally use all of the throttle and it just grips. Thought the GTB was a little too quiet, hence went with a Spider. Decided going to keep long term as I honestly can’t imagine I’d ever want for more from this type of car. Also was surprised that the ride quality is also a huge step up on F12/458.

Why should you worry what the masses think?
Do what you want to do and sod the rest of us.

If the F12 isn’t doing it for you, find something which will.

Life is too long to drive a car you don’t enjoy.

Having driven neither I'd imagine the main considerations to be what you're doing with the car i.e. long road trips vs spirited sunday morning drive around the twisties; so GT vs Sports Car. And then perhaps the aesthetics of the NA V12 vs the turbo V8. Although most people seem to say the turbo aspect is hard to detect apart from not revving as high.
Also, not sure of prices but I'm guessing a 488 Spider is also an option and that must make for quite an engaging driving experience.

I drove them back to back about a month ago. Completely different, 488 significantly more modern, the f12 engine is epic. The 488 was more impressive then I expected. Really a lovely car.

See reading above comments I’m torn , either is not. bad Sunday toy , think the 488 would be more for the country rides out with scd , where the f12 would have a bit more use, it’s due a service in may and yet it’s done 27 miles since back end of October

If you’ve only done 27 miles in four and a half months then you aren’t really using it or enjoying it enough. You should get rid of it and buy something you actually want to drive.
