Hi All

Keen to go to meets and go on short driving trips, any recommendations?

I've heard of SCD Super Car Driver, but at £350 per year is it worth it? Also, I'm based in London and had heard that they are mostly Northern based.

Any other groups or recommendations?

Thanks

I've seen mention of The Drivers Union down south but the most relevant suggestion may depend on what you drive as well as where

The Drivers' Union is free so no reason not to join. Sy posts on here and does a great job with it.

As others state above, Drivers Union. It’s FREE, we get a members card, news letters, FB page, WhatsApp group, VIP treatment at events and oh did I mention it’s free?

Sy goes under “Angelis” on here so you can contact him or go via the fb page.

P.S. any McLaren owners in or near Kent are also welcome in our Kent McLaren WhatsApp group.

It's purpose is just for quick local meets. Message me to be added.

I’m a member but see few meets or activity. I must be missing something. Is it mainly advertised Facebook?

My 2018 New Years resolution was to cease and desist from Facebook / Instagram / Twitter, Whatsapp. It was tough, but I've been "clean" for 24 months now and have no intention of "using" again.

My world is now a better place, but as far as getting to know about supercar meets / driving events / Tours etc I might as well have moved house to Mars.

Even as a member of the Mcowners club I seem to find out about stuff 3 months after the event.

Hey ho, ............... I'm NEVER going back to F.B. ...... EVER.

No one has mentioned Ferrari Owners Club which is worth joining if you end up buying a Ferrari. National and local activities and, certainly in Sussex and Surrey you don’t need to be on social media to keep in touch.

Yearly chateau runs have started again, and there are now regional groups arranging regional meets. These are in the local Whatsapp groups. You should have received an invite to join one of them.

Out of curiosity what caused such an extreme reaction.

I’m not a huge farcebook fan, but forums and clubs seem to be largely relocating there.

The good thing with Supercar Driver club is that you don't really need to be involved in the social media groups if you dont want too. Just use their website to keep track of events happening etc.
