Think about 50% sold overall.
918 didn’t - he put the hammer down, but unless he shouts a paddle number, it’s passed
Auctioneer can make pretend bids all the way up to reserve price.
So, ‘high bids’ dont mean a real bidder.
Thanks footsoldier, I wasn’t aware of that. I thought if the hammer goes down it’s sold.918 didn’t - he put the hammer down, but unless he shouts a paddle number, it’s passed

Some interesting sale prices, does anyone think these are a little on the low side?
As new sls amg 63 black series for less than £125k
Restored Ferrari certified 1973 Daytona for less than £375k
As new 458 Ferrari speciale aperta for £318k
I thought current retail asking prices would of been around the following?
As new sls amg 63 black series around £200k
Ferrari Certified Daytona around £500k

Or am I miles out?

The great thing about auctions is it’s public, pretty transparent, so much less bu//sh/t.

Ah there was a 997 GT2 at an auction a couple of months ago which “sold” very cheaply...since when the website updated to show that it apparently didn’t sell. The dark arts of auction houses.......it’s almost unbelievable what they get away with as “standard practice” 918 didn’t - he put the hammer down, but unless he shouts a paddle number, it’s passed

All the results have been added to Sotheby's website. $6.8m for the Pagani being the obvious standout.

Pretty interesting results all around. Most of the cars that did sell sold for below their low estimate, a few in the range and only one above it (the Pagani which I thought might be estimated a bit low). No big bounce back yet it would seem.
Not sure there are many reasons for a bounce based upon continued uncertainty in global economy. Gassing Station | Supercar General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
