My pal just took delivery of his 720S Apex Edition car, took me out in it yesterday, its the best car I've been in this year, which includes a pista, a GT2RS and my own GT3.
I had not even seen it any any magazines or anything, not even seen it advertised or anything?!?
He said it was an invite only car.
This is what McLaren should be showcasing mega car!!
Anyone else seen anything about this car?

Why?

Barely any different from the regular track pack version.

One off interior, mag wheels, carbon everywhere, does the track pack have three built in camera's and track data logging where you just plug a memory stick into the glove box? I have driven a regular 720s and this is the same power output, but that is the one thing it did not need improving on, also I don't seem to remember if it had the drift angle settings that this car has, maybe it did but the race spec interior with roll cage and harnesses all added to the feel.
But every time I go in a 720 i'm impressed.

Identical to 720S Performance with carbon options selected, except for the roll cage and the fancy paint option.

They are ALL epic smile

Whilst on the subject of "Apex", I was informed last week by Apex Taxi's Nurburgring that they have dropped using McLaren. I contacted them to arrange a few hot laps in the 720S, but they have now moved to Schirmer M3 GT 4-seater.

I would get it, better safe than sorry - from memory quite an expensive option, esp as it is only a little thing behind the seats as opposed to a full cage (never could figure out if I can have harnesses without it or not - am sure an owner can comment on that)

Go to 7 minutes in this video, regarding the 720s taxi retirement.

You can't fit harnesses without it. It's not made like say the 918 where the harnesses can attach directly to the cf monocoque. And even so, as far as safety is concerned, the Mclaren racing cars all have full cages like all the rest of the GT racing cars.

That answers my question - thanks
