I have carbon ceramic brakes on my 2008 599 which are showing as 75% worn. It got me thinking what alternatives there are versus paying £10K to get some new ones. Do they have to be ferrari OEM for example?

You can have them refurbished to better than new condition by a specialist company either Surface Transforms here in the UK ..Better still is the german company REBRAKE where you ship your discs to them to be refurbished to as new condition..
In your case i'd go with REBRAKE as they're a lot cheaper as they use your existing discs..

The corvette ceramic brakes are the same brembo ones as on the Ferrari. You can get them from the US and get the hats changed over and it'll still be a lot less than from Ferrari.

P.S I'd be pretty careful about using rebrake just to add.

Thank you Taffy .. after looking at their pricing it still seems expensive at 5600 Euro plus VAT and shipping. Have I got this right?

Rebrake has had a couple of renaming in the last few years.I believe that JZM use them for CCB refurbishment although i'm not 100% on this..I would get in touch with JZM who also sell ST's CCB rotors as well as Rebrake refurbishment services..

Surface Transforms don't refurbish CC rotors, they offer their own CC rotors.

Rebrake (or whatever they were called before) do an amazing job, end product is amazing but they're a nightmare to deal with.

Also be wary of doing an exchange on discs only, getting the originals off the bells/ mount bolts is a nightmare and requires ideally a 600 degree oven, one of mine broke when the Ferrari specialist tried to separate them

Apparently Rebrake use a vacumn infiltration system resulting in a stronger CCB disc than when originally new..
