Recommendations for replacing leather with Alcantara
Discussion
I used royalsteeringwheels and they were absolutely brilliant.
Not sure how difficult a job it is on your car but the ones I've taken off have been a piece of piss - just don't switch the ignition on with the airbag removed
You'll read some replies saying that you should disconnect the battery but I honestly think this is not necessary

It's a McLaren 570 so don't want to get the removal process wrong Not sure how difficult a job it is on your car but the ones I've taken off have been a piece of piss - just don't switch the ignition on with the airbag removed

Another who used Royal, and who wouldn't hesitate to recommend then, they covered the grey leather steering wheel on my 570s in black alcantera, and the workmanship is simply perfect.
I took the wheel off myself although releasing the air bag isn't easy, or for the faint hearted, lots of probing through the little hidden holes in the back to release the springs. Undoing the centre nut is easy in comparison lol.

A few people have mentioned Royal on here and elsewhere on line, care to say how much it cost? Looks a good job so won't be cheap I wouldn't think.I took the wheel off myself although releasing the air bag isn't easy, or for the faint hearted, lots of probing through the little hidden holes in the back to release the springs. Cost wise, you're better speaking to them direct as the cost is dependant on materials, stitching and who is taking off the wheel. Budget circa £200 to £300 as a guide.

As above, highly recommended

Wondering if there's different qualities of Alcantara, anyone have any knowledge?
