Great way of trickle charging your supercar!
Discussion
Last time I posted on here (it should have been in the detailing section) I got roasted off a couple of idiots saying an Audi R8 V10 is not a supercar and slated me for posting too many pics of the car. So here's hoping I don't get another roasting! I found on another R8 forum a great way of using a trickle charger that can obviously be used on any car.
I bought the kit but I couldn't use the blank in my front grille for my headlamp washer as they are not blanks on mine as we're the ones on the other guys post. So I used part of the grille that unclips in the bottom corner it was a bit fiddly but I got there in the end! Great idea especially if you drove off after forgetting to unclip it being magnetic it just pops off. Also its not live until the adaptor is put on so no need to worry about the 2 magnets getting wet and short circuiting but they do sell a snap on cap as an extra. You really can't notice it being so low down and being black I would imagine there will be somewhere similar on most supercars if you have a good look around.
I am going to fit more of these to my other cars it saves opening the boot or bonnet and even with a car cover it's no problem. Great bit of kit that's easy enough to fit just 2 wires from the battery to the back of the magnetic socket and the 2 wires from any trickle charger to the other magnetic plug. I suppose drilling a hole in part of the car is a bit scary but in the R8s case it's just a small piece of plastic that will not be expensive to replace if need be.
