488: level of manufacturer support including extended warranty should keep values from dropping more than most
458 would be included were it not that 2026 is outside warrantable window (I think) hence value less protected
But of course Khan and/or Juncker will probably have banned all personal transport by then to make more room for their Zils

I have seen comments that some folk think the 458 will be a better bet, being last n/a and arguably better to drive than the 488!
From my experience, most, but not all of the people I know who’ve driven both would consider that the 488 is ‘better to drive’ than the 458. That said, I can certainly understand why not all 458 owners have opted to swap. Both should make good ownership propositions over next few years as Ferrari new car pricing continues to increase, helping support used values.I sold my 458 Italia back to the same dealer in December for just £22k less than the £157k I paid for it 3 years previous (the car sold on within 7 days with a retail price off £146k). Cost not a penny other than the £7k per annum depreciation and a lot of fun had!

Best of breed and very cheap right now, esp LHD, so limited downside even if market goes south.
great car, but you try owning one and not piling on the miles !Best of breed and very cheap right now, esp LHD, so limited downside even if market goes south.
Should have kept..
I don’t agree with SLR. In fact I think they have a way to go before they bottom out.
Were cheaper before the hype and pretty sticky now. When prices are falling or static, no-one wants high running costs.
I think the SLR is decent value compared to SLS prices right now, but both will come back.

What are the MK1 SL like to run?
I'm going to add an outlier here - Ferrari 599 GTB. Lovely example at DK Engineering (no affiliation) https://www.dkeng.co.uk/ferrari-sales/994/prestige... In fact I'd say any V12 Ferrari is a good buy, but particularly the 599 and 612. They both suffered rapid depreciation but are now coming back into their own. Regardless of what Ferrari say in the press I feel that they won't be making a NA V12 for much longer, and it's a magnificent engine.
