jaguar Ftype SVR opinions?
Discussion
Hi All just wondered what current thinking is on Ftype SVR models? I have a gen 1 v10 Manual right now and am looking at moving on. These FTypes start around 70k now and I guess whilst the R8 probably won't drop now I am a bit concerned the jag will shed 1000s even for these special models?
only difference for me would be seeing an svr and thinking why didn't I get that. It's top model snobbery I guess but I always try to get the top model of the range with anything I buy. yes it's a waste of money which I can't explain. Thanks for the heads up in the exact blue colour. looking around it's hard to find a carbon brakes well specd coupe.

They honestly are not much different
Carbon ? You can have all the same carbon on a R ... and it’s cheap, mostly carbon skinned plastic items.
The Blue is Ultra Blue, metallic....French Racing is flat and they last did that on the R-S models.

I must be honest if i was buying the Jag the R would not get a look as it would have to be the SVR or nothing. It is the most special model.
I did 2000 miles to and from the Belgium Grand Prix (and a bit of touring) in 2017 swapping between an SVR and an R8 V10.
Loved the R8, the F-Type SVR wan't really for me. Great tourer, decent luggage space, epic sound but I couldn't help but think I'd rather have the R and keep the cash. It's really loud and shouty, but really didn't feel great at high speed on the autobahns. Just had a look at the used price differential, and there's not as much in it versus the R or R Dynamic now, but same still stands.
If you want every to know when you turn up to places and turn and look get the SVR, if you're not an attention seeker I'd go for the R.

Moving on do soon?!!??!?? Have you driven an F Type? I did a few laps earlier this year in an R, and passenger laps in an SVR.Lovely sound
Felt more tourer than sports car
Felt nowhere near as special, or as capable as my R8.
They're really good looking, but I was a bit disappointed if I'm honest.
Happy shopping!
If you think the Jag sounds epic, try a sports exhaust on our Lambo derived V10
If you have any concerns about depreciation the V10 manual R8 is the one to keep
In your position if you're serious & good to go - see if they will give you a proper test drive or lend you one. Or maybe hire one for a weekend? The £500 it will cost is nothing compared to what you'd lose on a newer Jag

Good call I may try that it's mainly a visual thing I'm not so concerned about outright grunt etc but love sound. I'm not sure anything in the price range will have the R8 allure as I still love it a lot but they are a little dated inside now even with top quality extended leather etc
