Right it will be a classic if its not already so if you dont use it who cares, better than money in the bank.
that's currently how i'm justifying it to myself. thankfully i paid off the finance a few years ago so the only physical costs currently are servicing etc....and 77 miles worth of petrol in the last 12 months

i'm frankly disgusted with myself.
i put my 430 in for it's MOT yesterday and found out to my horror when glancing over the test certificate that i have covered.......
......77 miles since this time last year.
i'm sorry.
That is a bit high for a Ferarri, for God's sake man, stop enjoying using the car and think about the residuals. After all, that is the point of such a vehicle i put my 430 in for it's MOT yesterday and found out to my horror when glancing over the test certificate that i have covered.......

if i said there hadn't been a bit of shying away from putting miles on it as the value increased ( it's a manual) i'd be lying.....but this last 2 or 3 years in particular (1500 miles in the last 3 years) work has taken over my life and i jut don't seem to be able to find the time at the moment.any free time at weekends is dominated by kids related activities that unfortunately tend not to include dragging a ferrari round the B roads

the laughable bit is that when i first bought it it was a commuter and i put 8000 on it in the first year....no honeymoon period molly coddling..just drove it hard and regularly....

I don't think it does the car any favours sitting like that, seals, hoses and suspension bushings / ball joints bits dry out, discs can rust, tyres develop flat spotsif i said there hadn't been a bit of shying away from putting miles on it as the value increased ( it's a manual) i'd be lying.....but this last 2 or 3 years in particular (1500 miles in the last 3 years) work has taken over my life and i jut don't seem to be able to find the time at the moment.any free time at weekends is dominated by kids related activities that unfortunately tend not to include dragging a ferrari round the B roads
I understand a Ferarri is a special car but why not try to use it and just take the rough with the smooth
I don't play in that league with my cars but have still had some nice motors. Take them to the supermarket, B&Q, the airport. I wouldn't be too precious unless you get greater pleasure looking at it than driving it which is fine and up to you of course
Small parking dings can be easily removed without paint if you find a really skilled smart repairer
The car is likely to lose significant value over the next 24 months anyway in my opinion, along with most other cars, might as well enjoy driving it
I had baby seats in the back of my GT, and have one in my R8 at the moment, it might leave a miniscule mark on the leather, but it's nice going out with the little ones and a bit of wear on the seat is less of a headache than prematurely replacing ball joints and brake disks for God knows how much

it is actually very frustrating that i just don't find time...it's sat still for so long that if i whimsically fancy taking it out by the time i realise the battery is flat i have to stick it on charge over night and miss the opportunity (must get a trickle charger!!!)
i leave the house early so can't just take it to work every morning as i'd have all the neighbours up and once i'm here in my daily the hassle to go back home and switch cars generally means i don't bother...
even if i could get up to a couple of thousand a year i'd be happy with that...and i think the car would be happier too!

I have a switchable exhaust on my R8, it is ridiculously loud when open but I can put it in almost silent mode for early morningsit is actually very frustrating that i just don't find time...it's sat still for so long that if i whimsically fancy taking it out by the time i realise the battery is flat i have to stick it on charge over night and miss the opportunity (must get a trickle charger!!!)

Tubi Style do one for the 430 I believe...
And a trickle charger sounds like an excellent plan, letting the battery go flat is, again, bad for the car!
