I know they are hard to find and I would like to know how much they are going for, before trying to looking for one.
Thanks for any help
I have one, brilliant car. They rarely come up for sale though. How much are you hoping to pay? I'd suggest you are looking at 3 figures. Thanks for any help

Alright that is more expensive than I expected, I was thinking it was going to be 50-60k. Have they gone up in price recently?1 available here unless it's been sold.

They were 50-60k ten years ago, when I was toying with the idea. Everything else has gone up recently, so those will have done too. They are sufficiently rare, and there's enough money around at the moment, that I suspect you can name your price.rubystone said:
Chris Craft has built several more over the past couple of years. Why not ask him what it'd cost you to have one built. The answer won't be £60k though....
Do you know how many more were built? The November '15 Evo article said they were doing another 3 to take it up to a total of 50. I am fairly sure mine was the last to be sold about this time last year and that was a relatively high miles car but had been thoroughly looked after, it went for just over £80k, a car with little miles and in top condition would in theory be a six figure car by now I think.
Chris did not end up building any of the remaining 3 cars yet but there is also another car potentially for sale that I know of.
For what it's worth I'd buy mine back in a heartbeat if I could afford it !
Crockefeller great to hear you are still enjoying yours.

Hi Charlie, I didn't want to mention your car on this thread - not my place....surely the monster Lotus is still scratching that itch? Chris did not end up building any of the remaining 3 cars yet but there is also another car potentially for sale that I know of.

Hey Mark, appreciate that and thanks, Lotus has been great, very different proposition to the Rocket being more track focused so might be getting changed for something else soon.
Ref lack of info I think it's really down to the fact only 47 cars have ever been built and probably 20 of these are now in Japan I'm guessing. The previous owner of the orange Ducan Hamilton car did have a website dedicated to them for a few years but it's now been taken down which is a shame. There is a book due to be published but it's been about 4 years in the making.
There are a few owners on here but feel free to PM me if you want to with any other questions, I am happy to talk Rocket stuff all day long. The original road test in 'Car' magazine of 1992 (June or July I think) is worth buying from eBay if you can.

One curiosity question for anyone on the forum. How well do you think LCC would do if they were to start producing updated rockets, and their v8 two seater (abreast) they had plans for?

Still love it, still don't drive it enough! This year has been especially bad due to another house move. Chris did not end up building any of the remaining 3 cars yet but there is also another car potentially for sale that I know of.

R003 might be in for some work in the next month or two, just trying to arrange with Luke/Andy now although my email is playing up...
Rather late to the thread but Rockets are in short supply but I can confirm that the long awaited book is just about ready. I started it in 2011. Worth the wait though as it has details of all 48 cars (the original 46 and the 2 Chris Craft pulled out of the hat in 2016-17). Which means that R013 is the only one missing from the running order of R001-R049.

Fantastic, I am really looking forward to the book. I am a lucky owner of one of the later batch that Chris built (mine was finished in 2013/4) and the car still thrills every time I drive it. (The car is chassis R002, a rebuilt version of the car Luke (Chris’ son) used to race.). It is unusual in being one of only two single seat versions of the car (with a race spec. fuel tank behind the driver’s seat).andy97 said:
Am i right in thinking that Mark Knoppler had one, and didnt he race it in Monoposto for a while?
Not sure about Mark Knopfler but I know Jay Leno has one which he loves. He did a review of his just recently..

Yes I think he still owns it and did race it for a while. Also Guy Fletcher of Dire straits, Dave Gilmour and a certain Mr. George Harrison.... allRocket owners at one time.

I hope you won't be disappointed. Your car features....
On a point of order (and geekiness) if yours is the white/blue one then it is R040/002 I think (from memory - I'm not at home to check up) in the same way mine is R048/010. R002 belongs to no less than Gordon Murray.
I'd just about given up on the book ! Good luck getting it pushed over the line On a point of order (and geekiness) if yours is the white/blue one then it is R040/002 I think (from memory - I'm not at home to check up) in the same way mine is R048/010. R002 belongs to no less than Gordon Murray.
Btw I think the Duncan Hamilton car has now been sold to one of these chaps on youtube thecarguys.tv
