Anyone know if you can fit a standard isofix in the rear of a Cali - I have 2 month old baby so the seat faces the rear currently and is fixed into a base.

Any thoughts, thanks

It does have Isofix fittings, the seatback is very upright and they provide a piece of foam to help create an angle, least I think that's what it was for

Yes it does have standard ISOFIX in the rear, and the ISOFIX base of our M&P child-seat fits in their fine, however as the rear seat is quite high, what with the ISOXFIX base adding another 4 inches, and then the childseat fitting into it, it is way to high to be safe, and our 2 year old's head would be rubbing the roof lining, or with the roof down her head would be about 5 inches above the front head rest in height!

As such we dont use ISOFIX, we simply secure her child seat using the standard three point seat belt which our child seat also supports in addition to ISOFIX.

Excuse the cat, but this pic may help explain...

Look at the rear quarter window and you will see that even without the isofix base the car seat still sits about 5" higher than the rear of the car. The will differ with different child seats, but most will still sit proud, other than the Ferrari child seat which seems to fit perfectly!!

buy a cheaper car seat.... the more they cost, the larger they seem to be with detachable bases etc and huge side padding!

many thanks maf, tried my car seat *maxi cosi* in one today, didnt fit...(even with isofix). looks like those good old italians forgot about the 0-12months baby category and just though about front facing seats...god bless them- clearly babies are born 12 months old over there.
last hope is to see about a smaller car seat - i hear the cali brochure/manual recommends britax? - trip to mothercare tommorow...

Conclusion:

Ferrari dealership checked the car with circa 30 different rear facing baby seats today - no joy. Looks like Ferrari made a child friendly 4 seater, but not a 'baby' friendly one! Fools - had they made the seats 3 inches deeper they would have had 145K off me today... then again, my wife tells me that 3 inches more is what i need in life in general. Not sure what she means...confused

We got our California last May, and I knew there was isofix for the rear seats but can assure you that there is not a rear facing car seat available for this model, I cant tell you how many hours/days were wasted trying to find one that fitted, we've now sold the California and have a Rapide but until they are a little older your options are limited

Oh, ok thanks - glad in a strange way that someone else has gone through the same journey as me.

The dilemma now is:

-Wait until April 2012 to buy a California (baby will be able to be in a forward facing seat then)
-Order a FF, 100K more - not ideal, and probably the wait will mean i wont get one til next year any way
-buy Lambo 560 and ditch the baby or wifebyebye
