Servicing?

My 4 year old 4.2 (which I bought in November)is due for it's 42k service next month. Until now has always been serviced by TVR main dealer. Anyone got any advice regarding a) workmanship, b) costs and c) residual values if I get it done by a non-franchised specialist compared to main dealer? (I am ten minutes drive from CDL in Orsett).

www.joospeed.net is the place i recommend. Just read any of the posts on Yahoo groups cerbera group and youll read lots of good thing about him.
I figure you could save £500-1000 a year by going the independant route. Will this come off the resale value? dont know but i always had my Lotus serviced independantly and got top money when i sold it.

Essexboy, I know you were looking for an independent, but had you thought of Kerridges in Ipswich? I bought 4 TVRs from them over 9 years and always had the work done there. Labour rates are (were) very favourable and from Billericay it's about an hour up the A12.
