has anyone changed the spark plugs on a 96 4.2? ive only had a quick look but unless the air intake boxes come off access is seriously restricted, thing is the boxes look like they are bonded in place. also which plugs do i need if mine need replacing? thanks.

I am surprised no one can answer this. I owned a S6 so dont know how, but is access easier from below save removing air boxes. The air boxes wont be bonded in they must have hidden fixings.
Call NGK 02082022151 they may know what plugs.

You take the boxes off, use a long reach socket set and change the plugs. Cant remember thecode for them, I'd take one out and get some more.

The boxes on my 97 are held by allen bolts situated on the inner faces. The take a few minutes to take off and make the whole "ouch sh%t the manifolds are hot on mi knuckles/bugger ive just pulled the plug lead to bits at 80 quid for a set" job a peice of cake

Just order the plugs direct from TMS (www.tvrgear.co.uk) - then you're bound to get the correct ones - may be slightly pricey though! I think TVR have also used several different versions over the years.
