my ignition warning light is illuminated. has anybody had this problem ? any ideas what is causing this ?
The obvious answer, which you'll probably have found in the owner's manual, is the alternator is no longer charging the battery. In which case it'll run flat pretty soon. But bear in mind the ignition and oil pressure warning lights have been known to be wired back to front on some Cerberas so there's a remote possibility you've lost oil pressure, which is a far more immediate problem. Do you have an oil pressure gauge to rule this out?
not sure which engine you have.
I had exactly the same problem with my 1st Sp6 in - the HT-earth had come "fractionally" undone (and even the garage were surprised at how fractionally made a diff) - but they fixed it in 10 minutes on a Saturday morning and was fine thereafter.
But get it fixed asap

It could be the alternator charging fuse. There's a little black box containing a great big 100a fuse at the back of the engine, between the V, behind the coilpacks. It could be cable tied closed - have a look in here. If it has broken, you can get a replacement from www.tvrgear.com, and in the interim bolt the two connectors together before your battery runs flat.

Well done all. It was the alternator fuse. The nice man from the AA fixed it. It took him most of the day though. He couldn't get hold of a 100amp fusable linkage. So we replaced it with a Landrover one until I can get hold of the pucker article. As a thank you I took him for a spin, but don't think he was that impressed!
