Another new owner !
Discussion
Hi all
Must be the week for new owners as today I picked up my first TVR, an early Cerbera 4.2 on a 'N' plate.
Been lurking on this site for some time, reading with interest the issues and problem resolutions that have been posted and will no doubt have questions of my own should (when!) any problems occur.

No NO NO ! Only good weather this year !! I've already spent my holiday money on three tanks of Optimax, so there is no where else for me to spend the summer.
Good luck with the new Car. I just got my Chimaera 450, and have found a limp excuse every day to drive it. Yes, there are some little things about it that are not just right, but I usually forget about them somewhere between 2500 and 4000 RMP.

Thanks for your replies.
It's Raspberry Pearl with just under 38k miles. I bought it privately for £16k. It has full Henley history until about 18 months ago and a few bills since then for remedial work and MOTs. It's done very low mileage in the last couple of years, but I appreciate that this may not be a good thing. The only obvious downside is a noisy / clunky diff which I'm hoping will not need outright replacement.

Noisy / cluncky diff are a standard TVR features. I remember GreenV8S explaining that very few car puts your head a fews inches away from a limited slip diff. That was certainly my first worry - I called the garage on teh second day. Strangely enough this is something I hadn't noticed during my test drives
So the question is really, how noisy is it?

Not sure where the idea of noisy, clunky diffs being normal in TVR's comes from. I've had 4 from new and racked up fair mileages - 27,000 miles/450SE, 16,000 miles/Griff500, 10,000 miles/4.2 Cerbera and now 28,500 miles/4.5 Cerbera. No diff noises at all or any diff problems. Sounds like a knackered diff to me. Also drove a 37,000 mile 4.5 Cerbera for a week and the diff was silent too!
