Would appear I'm not the right shape/size for a cerb as, with the seat in a position that isn't too close to the steering wheel, I am having trouble getting the clutch all the way down - near enough on tip-toe. Brake and throttle pedals feel fine.

I have tried adjusting the clutch pedal forward to the point there was no thread showing behind the lever (i.e. as far forward as looked safe) and while it helped a little it felt like the pedal was now higher and closer to the gearbox tunnel. Had to wind it back slightly for now.

So, before I try stretching my left leg, has anyone else had this problem and would the replacement pedals from Leven Tech help any ??

Phockit (apparently shorter than he thought)

P.S. uncanny, when I previewed this message there was an advert for replacement pedals in the banner

You are not alone!!!

I always thought that 5' 8" was average height for a British male, obviously not for TVR.

I had the same problem, and have just fitted the Leven kit, it took about 1 1/2 hours in total. Its easy to fit, if a little fiddly, and money well spent at £115.

I have got to say that it has completly transformed the driving position for me, especially in London traffic.

P.S. The quality of the pedals is also excellent!

You need the extended reach ones from Leventech. They are quite happy to send one to you for a trial.

I am 5'8" and enjoy having the seat all the way back, but my wife who is 5' has found the pedal extremely useful

Good luck

Thanks folks, seems 5'8" is some sort of norm.

Looks like it's time to dig out the old plastic friend again.

Had a set of SSP6 extended pedals fitted as discussed and am well chuffed

Got the clutch pedal wound out as far as it'll go, the brake in slightly from this and the throttle wound all the way in (not as extreme as it sounds).

Have now been able to push the seat back further and pull the wheel out from the dash a little, whilst being able to reach the clutch much more comfortably. Having the seat back also makes it easier to get in and out.

Had to wind the throttle in all the way to get my right leg comfortable (i.e. straightish whilst cruising). Had to lop ~45mm off the thread on pedal to ensure clearance with the back of the foot well on max loud.

The large faces on these pedals make them more comfortable to use and I can toe and heel now as well.

Well worth the money.
