MIL light woes
Discussion
Took my 2001 SP6 Cerbera to Goodwood on Saturday for a track day. Beautiful day, car running like a dream. Stop the car for lunch. Everything OK. After lunch I go to start the engine again. The MIL light is on and stays on. Rats!
After phoning round some dealers I try a couple of things - resetting the fuel cutoff switch and disconnecting and reconnecting the ECU.
No joy. The RAC took me home. Very frustrating!
I am positive nothing is wrong with the car. Something has tripped. I've had trouble with the ECU before. It seems to be soooo sensitive. It's either been the fuel cutoff switch having tripped, or the throttles being slightly differently adjusted.
So, I'm looking for advice. Any ideas what could have caused this? I'd really like to reset the whole thing myself, and then if it happens again, then take to a dealer for investigation. Do other people have trouble like this? What should my course of action be for investigating this?
Any input very gratefully received!

I had a similar issue after I had been messing about with the pump on the washer jet bottle. I had removed a few of the panels under the bonnet to get access, and managed to knock/get water on the connector to the fan controller temperature sensor.
Consequently the engine management didn't know whether the sensor was showing high temp or not and so put the MIL light and the engine fans permanently on.
Hexham HC knew the solution over the phone, so I imagine it is quite a common one. If it happens again, check the fans aren't on permanently!!!
