Have noticed that when I take my 4.5 for a short spin (properly warmed up of course) that after I have poked it back in its garage that the next day a puddle of oil has been deposited towards the front passengers side of the car.

Have spoken to Fernies who have said that this is quite normal if a car is raced but I DONT RACE IT!!!!! because I still can't push the loud pedal all the way down as I am a little vertically challenged. No Dwarf throwing gags please!!!!

Has anyone got any bright ideas as all the oil levels are OK, within factory norms and checked every time before I go out. I understand that there is a secondary oil breather on the front of the engine but surely this shouldn't pee out oil??

Any bright ideas?? causes, remedies???

Not sure about V8s, but Speed 6 oil level should be checked when engine is warm, according to the handbook?

V8s are cold. Is it coming from anywhere obvious? You could clean the oily bits nicely and dust in talc or something to make the leaking place obvious? A known problem is the front crank oil seal, which can either just be lived with or a replaced at a fair cost I think. Otherwise it could be a bad seal on a cam cover or something easily fixed. Good luck!

From what I can see the oil is coming out of the breather. The car was fully checked by Fernies just over 2 months ago and given a clean bill of health. Can only think that my oil level checking is still not up to scratch and that there is far too much in the sump. I can only assume (and I hate assuming anything about TVR's)that as the lube heats up and expands it is forced into the breather and then drips out as everything cools.

Looks like a trip to the dealer.

I have exactly the same for the first few weeks after it comes back for a service (Fernies) after the that all seems ok. The car doesn't use any oil (haven't topped up for 18 Months), I would have thought usage was a better guide to something being wrong than a little neing spat out.
