what is the highest speed from a standard 6, 4.2 & 4.5?
Discussion
All these stories about cars doing 195mph or 200 mph are generally down to speedo inaccurace (unless you actually manage to pull 7,500 rpm in top).
I've had a legitimate 190mph out of mine (2 up with luggage for a 2 week ski holiday and a few crates of beer) and so has a friend of mine (we were in convoy on the continent at the time).
The car was remarkably stable at that speed, which was nice .

Right you're all nicked. I've only done 150ish.
maxed my Speed 6 at 7200k revs in 5th.
should be approx 180 according to gearing, but then I guess the revcounter may be optimistic too.
It got very tappety again 3rd time in 8k miles, fed up... sold it and some one had two engine rebuilds shortly after
Sorry!
But I do want a 4.5 still, I love the Cerbera... I need my head read.
From my experiance with GPS units (stuck to the window of a BMW on the way to go flying) the speedo was quite acurate up to about 80mph it then began to exagerate a bit 100mph on the speedo was 95mph 125 was 115, the faster the less reliable the reading, and thats german engineering! Not tried it in the Chimp though.
