Weird wiper problem??
Discussion
Started off to work this morning when the windscreen wipers stopped working - they were on intermittent wipe at the time. Now they will only work on the fastest setting(nothing on intermittent or slow)and I have no wash wipe either?? Any one had this before or know what this is likely to be??
Thanks

Had a similar(ish) problem last week. The wipers were not parking properly when on intermittent wipe and occasionally would stop working on this setting. It got worse and they stopped parking on any of the speed settings. The previous owner had warned me of this. It has previously happened to him but later corrected itself. He had purchased a new parking switch (approx £7) in preparation for it happening again.
I had a go at fitting the new switch the other day. Trouble is you need to have hands the size of a 3 year old to get at the one in situ. All I manageed to do was to disconnect the wires going to the old one and waggle it around. I came to the conclusion that you have to remove the wiper assembly and ran out of time to do this. However, the act of disconnecting it and waggling it around has fixed the problem. You could try this, just in case it's a problem with this switch ... but my guess is that your problem is different and is something to do with the wiper motor itself or whatever controls the speed setting.
You get at the wiper parking switch from under the bonnet. It's a white-ish plastic Lucas item about 2" high and is tucked behind the wiper mechanism at the top right hand corner under the bottom of the windscreen.

I had this on my Cerb 4.2. The wipers would only work when you turned the wheel to the right, then they stopped working completely. Went to TVR Barnet and they said this is common with all TVR's and had to fit a new ribbon cable - which wasn't to expensive - about £20 but of course had to add on 2 hours labour and VAT - came to about £200 !!! Still it works perfectly now - and at last the weather is getting better so don't need the wipers anyway - sods law.
I have a Cerbera which has a problem with intermittent now for the 4th time. It is the wiper motor park switch which has failed. Part costs only a few quid but its about a 2 hour job to replace. I think water gets into it and causes it to fail. Yet another small but irritating design fault on the Cerbera.

Fault- Wiper belt in the steering wheel disintegrated and blew the wiper motor - bill £350.00...
I knew Cerbera`s were expensive - Good job the company paid!! (they probably thought it was for a service!!)
Cerbera now sold - Griff on the way!!

Excellent Neal – another company car no doubt!!
Looking forward to your comparisons with the Cerb and Chim.
