Has anyone heard of any Cerberas being car jacked ?

I believe that these idiots [who are obviously not men enough to confront men, 1 on 1] only go for the likes of large saloons (BMW 5 series, Mercs etc) or expensive people carriers (eg ML500).

How safe are we when our partners/wives/girlfriends drive the Cerbie?

There's a guy on the Tuscan list who was attacked the other week. He got out and 'dealt' with the little scrote and subsequently got him arrested (and he was found to have a large quantity of drugs on him).

No need to worry now anyway, because Tony Blair has taken personal charge of reducing crime. Funny, I thought he was supposed to be in charge of the country anyway...

Interesting...As far as I know, Cerbs and Tuscans have no doorlocks, have they? (correct me if I'm wrong)
Do therefore insurance companies force their customers to install immobilisers?

thom, they do have door locks, they're solenoid based (i think) and activated by the alarm/ immobiliser system. you can even deactivate the outside opener switches while you're sitting inside

I'd be surprised if TVR are a target for this - our cars are just too damn distinctive!!!
Car jackers are invariably after a car for either a shipment and resale abroad (in which case they go for an anonymous Euro blob Merc/Audi/Bimmer) or pace and anonymity for a "smash and grab" (think Impreza). Don't be fooled by recent press on the subject; car jacking's been around for a while - it was a common news in my home town of Birmingham a couple of years ago. But like rottweilers no longer attack kids, salmonella is no longer in eggs and that flesh eating bugthingy is no longer around eating (err) flesh(!), car jacking - whilst flavour of the month in the press at the moment - will be yesterday's news in due course. And whilst yes, cars will continue to be "jacked" the press will have latched onto something fresh and new. Like TVRs contributing to global warming or something!

It's uncommon but it does happen. Silver Tuscan stolen in Surrey last week apparently.
