Steering Wheel and Switchgear Problems

I have an intermittant problem where both wiper, wiper/wash buttons and Indicator switches do not function at all.
The problem comes and goes on startup - ie they never stop or start working whilst driving, and appears to happen after hard steering/parking.

Any ideas?

Probably the ribbon cable. Do the lights and horn still work ?

Definitely ribbon cable. Once drove 300 miles without horn/wipers/lights - coming back from Holland in October, due to same cable. Not much you can do yourself, connectors are a bugger to get to (not the ones on the steering wheel side, but the other side).

Horn certainly still works - not too sure about main beam/flash switch - luckily I have not been afflicted with the problem at night.
Anyone know if this would be covered under a WH Warranty - or is this wear and tear?
