I have recently purchased a 1996 Cebera 4.2.
It has a 'standard' Pioneer' Radio/CD, but the radio reception is awful. According to the local TVR dealer, Henley Heritage, there is little or nothing you can do about this ?
Anyone overcome this problem - ideas please.

Click on the FAQ link and you'll find a sound system question which includes references to improving reception.

So here we go again Steve
First take a look at the search facility on here, try 'aerial' or 'radio' and look in 'all TVR' catagories for the last 6 months, otherwise it don't seem to work (Ted???). Also take a look at www.fc.net/~imaster/ it seems that an aerial stuffed down the back of the roof works!
I don't have a cerbie but in my Griffith the reeption was also crap, so I now have a roof mounted (type) aerial screwed inside the boot, under the rain gutter lip, works a treat!
p.s. There is chap called David Beer (the dodo) on this list who is a bit of an electrical wizo' and has a TVR - useful combination I say! Rich...

For what it is worth, I have tried the aerial stuffed up the rear pillar and it is a significant improvement, got five stations on auto tune rather than the one I sometimes had with the factory fitment. One improvement to the suggested removal for the radio, the factory fitted pioneer can be slid out of the sleeve using two 50 mm stips inserted down the slots either side of the bezel. Mush easier than removing the footwell and learning to be a contortionist !!
Now I have an aerial socket in the boot I will have a play with positioning. The comment about the Griff might work on the cerbera too. Will let you know.
Mind you, having got the radio out fitting an add on CD was so easy I might just give up on radio if it were not for traffic alerts !

Chaps,

before I get my drill out, does it make AM reception any better?

AM is slightly better in that I could listen to it if I wanted to know the score of something like tennis, rugby, football etc. on 5 Live but I wouldn't want to listen to Test Match Special (is that an oxymoron?) all day. Rich...
