My dealer tells me that I have the wrong dampers installed on the Cerbie I have just bought. They are made by AVO?! To my dealers knowledge these guys have never made TVR parts.
He is recommending I replace them as the car ride height is too low. The cost of a new pair is £317.50 + VAT + £50 fitting.
Has anyone come across these Damper Springs before? and am I being stitched up?

Springs are very cheap (around twenty quid each) but dampers can be over £100 each. So for that money I guess your dealer means the dampers.
As far as I know TVR did not fit them as standard but AVOs seem quite popular on Cerberas. All the AVOs I've come across are ride height adjustable so having the wrong ride height does not seem like grounds for chucking the dampers away. If the springs are totally the wrong length so you could conceivably out of ride height adjustment this might require new springs (£20 a corner) but I would be surprised if they were that far out. Unless there is something wrong with the dampers themselves, I would be surprised if there is any need to replace them.
Cheers,
