My cerby 18inchers are not spiders but were replaced under recall before the spiders became de riguer (spelling!?) - I have had 2 blow outs recently due to losing pressure. They still seem to lose pressure despite getting 4 new tyres. Anyway the mechanic has today noticed that at least 1 wheel is cracked. He is looking into getting me spiders under the recall. Anyone heard of replacement non-spiders cracking?! SHouldI hope to get these paid for by TVR?!

Also - should I go for anthracite or silver finish. My current wheels are anthracite. The car is navy blue.

I have to say that if I could get the Tarantula alloys in a 4 nut fitment for my dark blue Chim then it would be alloy for me.

If and when I upgrade to a 'beast' then its going to be alloy without question.

Matt.

Apparently you can still get the RL7 wheels in 18 inch - I might insist on them again as I am not sure I want the rubbish offset on the spiders and the change in steering lock.

We looked at supplying the Racelines (TVR pre-Spiders) but didn't like the quality even though they were cheap (probably why they were used by TVR in the first place). Nothing I have seen or heard since has made me change my mind. Don't buy them.

A solution would be to accept the Spiders with spacers but don't put them on the car. Sell them to someone who wants Spiders (with the lousy turning circle that comes with them on Cerberas) and buy an aftermarket set of wheels that will be different to everyone else (that's one reason why we buy TVRs anyway).

Has anyone fitted decent after market items? What are they and do they maintain the existing turning circle?

As the factory has offered me a free set of spiders then I have taken them. I am fitting them with the steering and axle mods. So there goes my steering circle. Apparetnly the factory wont supply the old style 18inchers anymore.
At least my tyres will stay inflated. I didnt want to risk another set of the old style anyway. I am not a fan of fitting other makes of wheels as you never know how good they might look and the car always looks like its from Max Power.
