Missing pipe?

Another Question lads and ladies:
At the back of the 4.2 engines is a gold circular air rail restrictor/valve/vacuum thing, (Not sure what it's called) but it looks like it has a hole for a pipe to be attached to it. No pipe on mine. Should there be one there or not?

Since the entire office was made redundant yesterday, I had time to nip out and have a look, and no mine doesn't have a pipe attached to it either.

Maybe in Blackpool they found out the engine was working well without the pipe then removed all of them ...sorry just (badly) joking
