I have a 1998 Cerbera 4.5 and want to fit a stainless steel exhaust, standard or sports. Has anyone fitted a Peninsula item or any other for that matter and if so what is the build quality, price and overall sound quality like. I don't want a very loud system just similar to standard but maybe a little more bassy and not too harsh.

Your comments please. Darren

Have no experience of Peninsular but in case you have no luck Fernhurst's exhausts are EXCELLENT.....will have you permanently grinning and good value for money too....out of most that I have heard Fernies are one of the best and the build of the exhaust is such that it does not rattle and bang on the underside of the car....

but if you are decatted and sports then you need ear plugs. And will have probs on track days. Sports exhausts serve no purpose except to show off and scare people (which is a good reason for buying one).

I have a replacement oversize over-the-top special backbox from Joolz (www.joospeed.net) that I can use to replace the Fernhurst rear sections for trackdays... perfect compromise.

I have a 96 Chimaera and had my original stainless exhaust modified by Peninsula last week , a dash louder but a far more tuned note , some people remove all packing on these conversions but Peninsula just fit straight through stainless pipes then re-pack , whether this can be done to yours I'm not sure , the guy who generally answers the phone can be mis-leading so as said above ask for Richard , he has a wealth of knowledge and is very willing to help.

Had the Peninsula sports exhausts fitted to my Cerbera 4.5 with no problems. It isn't de-catted. The sound is good - slightly quieter than before, probably because the 2 year old original was shot to hell. I have noticed, though, that the tail-pipes don't polish as well as the chromed ones (or am I using the wrong polish.....)

Corin

Do you want to share the cost info on that one?

Sounds like something I might like for the future (christ, haven't even picked it up yet)

I believe it is Peninsula who actually provide Fernhurst with their sports exhausts.

I've got their sports exhaust and decat on my 4.5 Cerby, sounds very naughty !

Had the rear silencers fitted last week and a great fitment, fully adjustable hangers and a good looking system. The overall sound quality is great a little more bassy at idle and more throaty under load, a great buy all round 10/10 thanks Peninsula.
Good price, great fit and excellant quality

Did you have the s/s "(Rear)" ones as advertised on P's site fitted? The ones for £199? Did you have them fitted locally or go down to Devon? Sorry, not just being nosey, I too have a '98 4.5 and am thinking of sport pipes.
Cheers David
